I actually think that Jono Jenkins is improving from week to week in the 7 jumper. Have only watched the first half of the Force game from the weekend but I actually think he has the makings of a good Openside. Leave him there for a week or two and I think he will surprise.

Bit unfair, the squad was decimated by injuries before the season begun. I didn't have much hopes (same as lot of Tahs fans) after Mitchell, Turner, Vickerman were ruled out for the season and then Elsom, Barnes, McCutcheon, Palu early on.. in fact most Tahs fans expected us to lose to the Reds in round 1.

The Sydney media is also the ones that makes bad games into internal and external crises. There the ones that put the boot in at any opportunity. Even in periods of good results they print rumor and gossip about the tahs. Works both ways. They talk em up so they can knock em down.

Yep, I'm glad the Brumbies dont have that issue. However Grumbles has a cheap plug every at them every so often. I thought the SMH were going to get him go.

Elsom was never fit, same for Vickerman and Mitchell.. However Pity about Barnes but his back, and Turner was very unlucky. Palu misses as many as he plays. Paper Tahs. ;)

Yes. Foley can kick. He has a perfect record in Super Rugby (1 from 1 against the Rebels :) )

As I like to watch mentioned, 10.9 electric as a 17 year old schoolboy is pretty bloody quick. However Rocket is not even the fastest rugby player in Australia. Dom Shipperley is faster over both 20 and 40m, however I don't think he would win over 100.

The fastest player in Australian rugby that I am aware of (not including Stapelton) is academy prospect Mitchell Felsman, who won the youth olympics as a schoolboy, that same year he clocked a 10.68.

Well the issue with this for me is that Berrick was obviously troubled by the groin, particularly late against the Force. What does that mean for the rest of the season?

Actually, before anyone points it out - if the Tahs lost too many more that IS the season. Good point MrMouse. Hush now.

My hectic social life means that I havent seen the tahs for a while (Foxtel kindly refuse to replay Sat night's extravaganza at any time I can watch) so my question is:
what does everyone think about this plan?(Ignoring the fact that Growden is the author)

McKibbon kicks goals. and Barnes can't at the moment and Hangers is to the bench.

The same article had Dennis on the bench as well with talk of work loads and rotation.

The Tahs are slowly becoming the best advertisement for rugby league, afl, soccer, hockey, baseball....

They are killing the code. And if they seriously expect us to believe that the crowd was 15,000 last saturday then they are even more deluded than I thought!

They have serious attack issues. Clearly, their first preference is to kick......unacceptable for the advocates of 'running rugby'. But hey this is what happens when you contract blokes based on what school they went to.

I'm still not sure why Foley isn't just kicking if they're still worried about Barnes' groin.

I couldnt agree more Knuckles. There were more people at the trial match versus Samoa pre-2011 season than there were at the SFS on Saturday night.

What do you expect when half the squad comes from Sydney Uni and the key decision makers are from Sydney Uni. Sydney Uni have played a terriorty orientated game plan based on kicking and physical dominance for the last 6 years and have had obvious success with it. And while this may have worked in club land where you are up against a mixture of amateurs and professionals it has clearly not worked at the next level for the tahs. Time for a change I think and time to start playing with the ball.

The western/members side of the stadium was pretty full, I actually called the crowd for closer to 20 so was surprised when it was under 15.
