Hi all only a few weeks away from the start of the year. Does anyone have any mail on coaching and player movement/ recruitment for the next year.

That winger at Sunnybank was playing for Souths during the 7s season. Josh Cowhard??? He won player of tournament.

I have not heard of any other player movements. We will see during preseason I guess when trial matches kick off.

interesting. I have heard there long standing General Manager Gaven Head has been shown the door. He has done so much for that club (and in fact rugby in the region). It's a shame, particularly if its a powerplay from above.

He has stood down himself. No power play. I’ve had lots to do with Gavin and yes he is a different guy but at the same time has done lots for rugby. And yes has made many mistakes and should have stood down year ago when he lost support from the staff around him

Wow sounds like this Gaven guy was a great contributor to the club who simply fell out of favour. I don’t know if there’s any truth to my above rumour mongering but gotta think with how strong Sunnybank have been in colts and reserve grades that the doom and gloom could not be as bad as projected. There’s always cattle ready to step up and embrace the challenge.

QPRRF - you listed all the departure but has the club picked up anyone worthwhile this offseason?

Agree Reg he was basically the driver for the successful club 7's program last year. Although not a fan of the bank many of the things Gavin did over there were highly successful and are a template for other clubs to follow.

you go back to the REAL dark old days of QRU back before Mooney and when they were close to death's door and Head lead the Game Development team that were doing sensational stuff for the game at the grassroots.

Agree it would be a shame if he were lost to the game.

It will be interesting to see where Sunnybank end up this year. That will be the litmus test on their decision

That guy

Sunnybank will be better off without the 10. I heard he bolted when he heard both Lucas’ were back to take the helm

I think Sunnybank Rugby will be a lot more of a pleasant place to work and play now. For both genders. Rugby's about honesty, integrity and transparency.

There may be legal proceedings afoot, so I would warn everyone that while GAGR is anonymous, it's not THAT anonymous.
