I see there is a lot of promotion being done by the QRU around this being mental health round.

I wonder if there will be a zero tolerance on abuse from the fans? Otherwise it's all a bit hypocritical to be honest.

Not sure why all the chat is about the 60 seconds of madness - how bout the 80mins of incredible footy played, Scotty Gale is an absolute legend, Captain Pat has an unbelievable work rate and Vesty field banter is second to none. When it’s all said and done old mate in the crowd got his feelings hurt because his team got their balls handed to them on a platter. As long as no one was hurt crowd banter is just passion for the game and pride in the jersey. Lord Richard apologized at the end of the game move on.

FYI - whose cheering for North’s to make it 0-8 for the mighty Tigers no pressure Eagles

there is a fine line between a great time and banter and offensive behaviour.
there is not a club in QPR who can take the high moral ground on this. I have heard from a guy who was there that it was a bit more than just banter and that some club officials were already managing the message on the day.
These areas at Easts, GPS, Brothers and to a lesser extent west’s and Souths add a lot of colour hopefully everyone realises that they need to settle down a bit.

I hate to be cynical about these types of things but it seems like this is compliance exercise for the QRU.

Lots of social media posts about mental health round, but little information about what they are actually doing to achieve this throughout all levels of rugby. And to your point, speaking to some club officials around the grounds, there hasn't really been a whole lot communicated about ways for clubs to assist in implementing change and behaviours around mental health.

A step in the right direction for sure, but not sure what actual steps are happening to achieve anything. I could be wrong though.

my son plays colts at wests and they had a big seminar on blokes and mental health in the pre-season. I was super impressed with that

Great points Reg

Each club has officials who have completed a mental Heath first aid course. The QRU has done some excellent work in this space. So I would not call this a box ticking exercise.

Tipping for Round 8 HERE

I may struggle this week with no Uni game to get me a win.

Brothers have 7.5 head start over Bond. Hard trip for the Coasties going to Crosby but I think they have the firepower to overcome the Filth by at least a try.

Wests get a 10.5 start over GPS, who I think will be hurting after last weekend. Scrum battle will be immense but GPS have more attacking threats across the field.

Giving Norths a handicap against the reigning premiers, who would have though. I think there will be a try in so only a 6.5 margin. Can the Tigers go 0-8?

Souths hosting Sunnybank in a local derby. I want the Dragons to get up but I think the Magpies have been underperforming and this might be their opportunity to click, if they do the 12.5 point wont be enough for those tipping the 'bank.

Just had a look at the team lists for this weekend on Rugby Xplorer .

Sorovi down to play 9 for Wests, but he is also in the Reds' Instagram feed as being in Townsville.

Old photos from a previous Reds to Regions campaign maybe, anyone know if he's playing for Wests or away with the Reds?

The reds did fly out this morning by the looks of it.

Unsure if he’s playing or not tomorrow… but he’s been the MVP in my eyes for that bulldogs outfit.

He's not on the bench so I'd assume that he plays.
He seems to be in Townsville from the Insta feed .....

2021 George Francis a far cry from the 2020 version. Needed a breather after 20min today and didn’t make it long in the second half.

Happy to see Easts finally get a win - seemed set for it last week only to lose, and when the scores were level I was a bit worried but good work by the team. Gee, that big Norths 13 is hard to stop - very powerful. Hopefully for Easts this is the start of a run of wins :).

I believe comments about his fitness are what led him to Wests. Might be something to that.

Yeh one of the aspects of his game last year that I really enjoyed was he had a number of runs every game, would put in big efforts in the scrum but also truck it up every so often, quite effectively.

Hasn’t really had those efforts for West’s so far which is telling that he is trying to reserve his energy.

So I think I'll sack the guy who does the odds, he's messing me around. I went 1/4 again :(. 5 of you managed 3/4 and we have new leaders.

That Big 13 spent a season at Wynnum & Caloundra in the Sunny Coast Competition - some handy players there for prem clubs to recruit from

The substitution in second half could of very well been a concussion head check.

Did you see the shot Taii Tualima put on George as the 3rd man in? (Could of been red/2nd yellow infringement) with a different Ref.

Took big George a couple of moments to find his feet and it looks like he was subbed at the very next play.
