I reckon Sam Miranda ran the 100m division and competed in shot put in 88. He was a 1st XV front rower, I can’t imagine many have ever ticked those 3 boxes. Is my memory faulty?

Zach Guilder from (E) ran against Jas, (K).in '88 as spoke to Jas about those days when on surf patrol with him.

I agree 1990 joeys side was the best I saw but Scot’s 2014 just as dominant
The details of Scot’s importing players in 2015 I can’t comment on however their best player was the son of an old boy(1987 team).

The 1990 joeys side had a core of boys who had been at school from year 7 (i include Jorgensen who started year 9)
They were however augmented by 3 new arrivals in 1990. Thompson (aus u17 89)
Ryan (NSW schools 89) Prior (NSW u15 89)
In addition they benefited from year 12 repeaters Lemmich (captain) and Isaac (aus schools 1990)
These dominant teams can be celebrated for what they were ie beautiful to watch.

Not sure why you’re counting Peter Jorgensen starting from year 7 when you clearly state he started in year 9 (having been at Newington since Kindergarten along with his older brother).
Ryan was a year 12 repeater from Cranbrook.

The 1993 and 2014 teams fall into the category of "the world that shall not be mentioned". In 1993 case, it was on an industrial scale and will forever taint that premiership

We all regret things we have said on this site, that could have, with the benefit of hindsight, been said with greater wisdom. So my friend, see it as a lesson learnt. However I was making the point that whilst the joeys 1990 team benefited from late arrivals of star players they should still be considered a great team and those late arrivals were still a big part of the story.

Likewise Scots 2014 should be accepted the same way as a great core group suppplemented by late additions to make an all time great team rather than pilloried as a team of ring ins

Need to check this but I think New 14Bs are playing Kings Cs, and Kings 14Bs are playing Knox.

That is correct for this Saturday....

Kings 14B is now playing Knox 14A

New 14B is now playing Kings 14C


All other New v Kings games are like for like in the A and B age groups (u13, u14, u15, u16)

He was pretty handy at basketball too

Yes. The pies are one of a kind. I was fortunate enough to get one when I came over the bridge for the Shore vs Scots game in the trials and all I have to say is WOW. They are truely beautiful with some great meat and ingredients which just seem to work perfectly together. I will be out at BH this weekend watching the Scots boys defend their home ground, so no pies off the field for me, but hopefully Di Staso can grab a few meat pies on the field in the 12 jersey!

I am looking forward to the game. It should be an even match.
Pity the pies are ordinary but the BBQ is normally very good.

Yes just remembered. He was in my House in prep. He ran XC in year 4 but beat everyone in year 5 and 6. I often wonder if he would have played for Wallabies if he stayed at New. He was same year as Scott Bowen

Big big news for scots, 16s star from scots Finnlay Bartlett has been dropped from Seconds into 16A's. Finn has only played opens this season and will hugely help scots in the 16s.
