Marce

Radike played wing in the Wallabies’ last pool game against Russia in the middle of a massive injury crisis… he also used to play on the wing when he was younger.

To suggest that a prop or 8 is a better shout playing inside centre (which, by the way, is not just running lines) than a specialist 12/13 is one of your wilder ones, Marce. Can never tell if you’re trolling or not, but I sincerely hope you are.
Could be a better ball carrier than an inside centre. Why not? Jonah Lomu would have been a better ball carrier than Paisami, not a better inside centre.

Obviously I'm not asking for Tupou playing there but someone with more presence should have an opportunity

Add my two cents - anyway you cut it this was a great win. Really satisfying and definitely what the team needed after coming up short in the england series. I suspect it could be a tough season considering the players that will be unavailable but hopefully the chance to grow the depth within the squad will pay off next year, and with that said the big takeaway for me was the quality performance from some of our younger players - valentini, swain, tupou, mcwright, paisami, ikitau, petaia...all guys that could potentially still in their prime come 2027. All guys that have the making of world class players.
Hooper for me has looked a bit burnt out this season and so while its tough to lose him the silver lining is that mcwright gets some experience before the world cup. I dont think mcwright is the finished product but the chance to play some tests this year will help him reach his potential sooner rather than later.
- jed hollaway looks to have the makings of a good test. Definitely would give him another start next week
Agree all round - we need a playmaking 5/8, Quade was making a great comeback until…how would Petaia go? He’s hard to read - strong - can kick - throw a great pass - rip into me but he makes it hard to defend.

Riddle me this; what difference does it make if i wake up at 7am and watch the entire match rather than 5am?
Does that make me a lesser fan? You've made a few comments about this so i'm curious to the points your'e making
I watch most tests on replay so I can watch them with my daughter, the games are on after bed time.

I am 50/50 in my fearless predictions but I'd put my money on Carter Gordon at 10 for the Wallabies at RWC, he has that coolness about him, he kicks well, is gutsy in the D, takes the ball to the line and reads the game pretty well for a youngster.
Mind you, Edmed looks to be improving all the time. Lolesio is OK without having the game reading to be a great, he will be a bench player if at all in RWC.

Both Carter and Edmed are a bit too loose ATM. I’d guess that Rennie will now lay out a plan for his playmakers between now and the RWC. One of those youngsters may come in or he might stick with Lolesio, JOC (James O'Connor) and Hodge?
Should be interesting.
The As program is already reaping benefits so you would think Donaldson may get a crack.

I fear this may be close to the truth. Have to say thanks Quade and I hope you prove me an idiot.
I'll back Quade to return playing the J-League before their season ends next year.

Timing wise he's got 14 months until the RWC. Plenty of time to get it fixed and get more games under his belt before next years Rugby Championship.

Hodges did his when he was 31/32 (and wasn't as strict with dieting and looking after himself as Quade) and was back in record time.

Great to see Jeds passion and how much earning that cap meant to him. Hope he gets many more.

Congrats to Gibbon too.
I have been beating the drum about Holloway for years as an 8 ever since he started with the Tahs and guys on The Roar thought I was crazy and that he was an average lock at best.
Just feel a bit pissed that he wasn't picked up earlier and it took DR to put him into the backrow where he belongs.

Interesting that the Egg Chaser boys take was that it was Hodges influence on the game that won it for us. He played well, coming on for Cooper, will be interesting who starts at 10 next week

This is the first season he has played anywhere near well enough on a consistent basis to be part of the Wallabies squad.
I agree - there was a lot of hype early on, but he never really lived up to the hype - he has really matured in recent years and grown into the game.

A lot of pragmatism in that post Joe and you could be right but I hope Rennie has an open mind re 10 as we need that smart 5/8 for us to go deep in the RWC or win it!

He was pretty honest recently about not doing enough to earn a Wallabies cap. He was just doing enough to be a pro but has now done the extras that push you to the next level and I'm sure he's really cherishing it. Had a great debut with much more in front of him.

This is the first season you have seen it!
Some of us saw it and then watched it fade as he disappeared into the row. You burn a lot of energy in the row and to expect someone to showcase their natural BR talent from that position is a huge ask. He was all but lost as we farted around with an average backrow that struggled to bend or break the line let alone do everything else an 8 is expected to do.

Wallabies do play tighter and to our strengths with Hodge I feel but at the same time I ignore most of the stuf from the Egg Chaser guys, JB almost prides himself on watching little rugby and throwing out outlandish statements.

Given he wasn’t even in the Aus A’s, I’d say the only way he goes to the RWC is if he somehow carries the Rebels to a Super Rugby title next year all on his own.
