It happens all the time, it's just not seen unless the guy gets injured

Hell, there was another similar incident where Newell did it to Sio, but none of us saw it because he didn't get injured.

And to your point to tip tackles before, there are still the same amount now as there always was, it's just we notice them more now becuase we are conditioned to

The cleanout on Sio was a bit awkward but it was nothing like the Tupaea cleanout. He pulled Sio down backwards, he didn't hit him with force right near his knee.

I don't know what to tell you if you think the amount of tip tackles in the game are the same as they used to be. I doubt you'd find many people agreeing with you.

He dropped his whole body weight on Sio's Knee, but sure, no force hahaha

Again, people letting the outcome (and slow motion replay) cloud their judgement

That's not the point though, only reason Tupea was injured was because he was held in the ruck by another Wallaby player (actually 2, Wright and AAA?), it wasn't purely Swain's cleanout.

If Sio was trapped in the ruck like Tupea was, Newell's cleanout would've destroy his leg too

The position of Swain's arm hooked under the leg. That position combined with the driving shoulder is just guaranteed to end someone's knee.

That's the difference between Swain's and almost every other cleanout involving legs in the history of rugby.

Nope, Tupea was trapped, that's the only reason this incident occurred and was picked up. Happens all the time and gets missed (see Newell on Sio).

Exactly. Sio wasn't injured because he rolled onto his back, Tupaea couldn't as there were players on top of him

A bit emotive there. Not really above horizontal and definitely not driven! Believe it should have been a yellow card tho.

So Swain has been named in Australia A squad, a convenient way of using up 3 matches of any suspension? And so can be let loose on NH tour?
Of course some people may think I'm cynical and no way RA would stupe to those shenanigans (like the rest of the world) ;)

There's no need to be subtle Dan, yes it's to reduce his suspension in terms of actual Tests missed and yes every other union would do the same.

Mate I always subtle:p, and I agre most others would do it, seems it hard for anyone to get on high horses over it though, when others do it.
Seems they think he guilty though, so are trying to limit damage.........to Swain.
Actually if you had an NRC he could of used them there, food for thought and another reason to have one.

But honest thing is I surprised Frost in 'A' squad, really rate that boy and would have him in test squad.
