Wallabies 2023

And then didn't play him until the press forced his hand and then had so much faith in Smith he had Farrel doing most of the 10 work.
I didn't remember this about Giteau so I looked up WIki - he played for the Brumbies in 2001 and for the Wallabies in 2002. Hardly plucked out of nowhere!
You might want to have a look at who the Brumbies coach was in 2001...

That doesn't get you off the hook of 'plucked him out of nowhere', like many others you just shuffle your story to try to make yourself look OK.
What story? I literally just chimed in on this dumpster fire of a conversation to point out Eddie was the Brumbies coach that first picked Giteau.

I can't speak for anyone else, but this whole diversion is looking a bit rule 10 for mine, might be time to move on and let it go. Certainly talk of Sua'ali'i and Giteau doesn't have any place in a Wallabies 2023 thread.

This thread should really be about how Eddie should just choose the Reds side from Friday night with Slipper replacing Ravai.

And I've just read Hamish the mouth has sworn he will get another leaguey for ONLY 1.2m a year, some guy called Haas.

Wouldn't you love to be a young talented kid in rugby ATM?

I've just started a little bit of data analysis re: Sua'ali'i, which I'll post here, for people not too familiar with the digital media space.

The value this kid has provided Rugby Australia is already immense.

You can estimate this by looking at the videos he's generated on YouTube / Instagram / TikTok with reference to Rugby Australia, and then calculate a hypothetical value of what it would've taken to 'buy' that space via paid ads on the platform based upon the average CPM for that platform (this is the cost per thousand impressions).

For reference, I'm currently 7 videos in on Tik Tok alone, which has an average CPM in Australia of $8-10. I imagine that there is likely another 100-500 videos on the topic that have been posted, so I'm barely scratching the surface on one platform out of half a dozen.

Based on those seven videos alone, he's generated $10,800 - 13,500 worth of media space for Rugby Australia, and he hasn't even laced up his boots for a single training run.

I imagine that this represents less than 1.00% of the total value across all platforms that he has already provided. Keep in mind that he won't be on the payroll for some time yet.

If you're a young kid, the answer is simple and you have two options. Let's illustrate it in boxing terms. You can become so incredibly talented and successful that there is demand for your work, e.g. Oleksandr Usyk, or you can come with an enormous built in reach / marketability and you can be compenstated for that also, e.g. Jake Paul.

If you can do both, e.g. Tyson Fury, the sky is the limit. Suualii currently has a bit of both, and in terms of driving key material outcomes for rugby within Australia, he's likely already contributed more than all Super Rugby wingers currently playing.

Not according to his wiki entry. I had another look and classic wallabies agree with you but I cannot find anything else to prove which source is correct.

His wiki entry is wrong...

Giteau made his Super 12 debut for the Brumbies off the bench against the Sharks in 2003.

In fact, Giteau didn't join the Brumbies until 2002 initially on a one year deal.

So after all that... Eddie either selected Giteau for his Super Rugby debut in 2001, or his test debut in 2003....possibly both.. not bad for a bloke who cant identify talent

You're going to find out yourself over the next couple of years. All you have to do is look at how much talent he introduced in his time in England and he did the same in his time as W coach.

Maybe it would have gone the other way if McKenzie hadn't resigned to avoid airing his own dirty laundry and instead fronted up to give evidence.
There was no dirty laundry, that was a media fabrication, as your profile picture suggests a strong NSW bias, your lot chose to shape the narrative in order to prematurely instate Michael Cheika, who was very much the raging flavour of the month at the time. And that worked out favorably didn't it?

It did... they won the Rugby Championship and made the RWC Final.

Off the back of Link's astute development, that was well & truly Link's team - watch the Wallabies do the same in 2023 off the back of Rennie's progress.

Importantly sustainable or long-term success did not come under Cheika, Link's influence faded after 2015, Cheika took Link's team to the 2015 final after Link resigned 10 months earlier leaving a finely drilled world-class outfit for his successor, when Cheika had to build his own team 2016-2019, he failed miserably.

Everyone fucking gets it, Link was the messiah. Can you cease posting the same shit in any thread you venture into? Fucking tedious!

Link was an amazing coach, did great things at the Reds etc. but saying he was the architect of Cheika’s success in the first couple of seasons is a really long bow. Just looked at team from Links last Rugby Championship game and the team from the RWC final. A total of 7 players were in the same starting side. No idea about injury context, but he surely didn’t draw on Giteau and Mitchell into the side.
