Boats and Hoes

Closely encaptured in 45 minutes of cinematic marvelation, it is safe to say that the notorious House of Kings has outdone himself once again. Tears came to my eye, visualising what I, as an old boy, saw as a home. He is almost Christopher Nolan- like as a film creator and it is evident that the domination of the King's Team this year was reflective of their undying passion for the school.

My apologies. I have not put up the updated premierships tables as yet. Been having a well earned rest.

For those new, “play the ball and not the man”

The combined comp thing gets brought up every year. Is it a nice concept? Yes, for 1st XVs

What does it mean for 2nds, 3rds etc. some schools with a strong 1sts like Barker would not have a 2nds suitable for a Div 1… if they have to play somewhere else you dilute school support over time which will diminish programs as a whole. We eventually purely have A grades and 1sts and less kids playing
Hi All,

I'm the kid that actually made the documentary and appreciate all the support. Just to clarify, I'm in Year 12 and am friends with all the kids on the team, so I can understand why some may think I've gassed them up. I'm only 17, yet over the years I've understood the growing need for athlete marketing and exposure, and have assisted many boys on the squad in getting recognition from professional teams. In the end, that's who I'm doing it for. I'm not getting anything tangibly out of doing this as I'm still a student at the school, which I think that is important to consider if you want to try and slander the video. It's been a big commitment amidst HSC trials and my own athletic season, so I do hope everyone enjoys it. Please do keep sharing it around. Cheers again,

Tom
Good on you mate. It is a great video.

Like the the ghost said what would it mean for the seconds and thirds and some CAS teams wouldn't be able to compete with the likes of Kings, Scots, View and Joeys.
Knox and Waverley could probably compete with most gps schools across the age groups.

And it should be part of the promotion criteria that you need to have a certain amount of depth across each age. E.g 4 open teams, 3 under15/16, 4 under13/14.

Problem with that is we are essentially just re arranging the various school associations into what would become permanent because it’s going to be vary rare that a school prove they can fulfil the criteria for what would have to be more than a year to be promoted.

I can only think of Oakhill really developing a deep program over the last decade. Auggies will have strong cohorts some years but also 1sts that are 2nds standard in every other and generally the standard drops off quickly.

King's athletics is up there with one of the strongest programs in the country...10 premierships in the last 16 years since the coach took over (have never placed lower than 3rd as well) - sounds like a good idea, particularly with Sid Singh competing in the Open High Jump this year
That would be the former Joeys coach who won 11 straight

6 opens teams, 10 u13 teams are table stakes
