I want the Wallabies to win, with the necessary tries and points differentials to progress to the Quarter Finals. I just don't see that happening.
By the end of the EOYT last year I was feeling confident we had the side, players and coaching team to beat Wales whenever we played them. Right now, I believe we have regressed so far that a win over Wales is extremely unlikely. I also believe that, in the unlikely event of a win, the style of play under Jones would not result in the number of tries needed to earn the bonus point to advance. Certainly, this aspect is not helped at all by the selection of Donaldson at No 10. He has done little at Super level to suggest he can break up a RWC team's defensive systems. The only meagre chance we had imo was with Carter Gordon at 10, but not to be.
I think Wales will be a hurdle too far or too high for us to conquer.
