The 2022 Kings VIII was inconsistent at best with their racing throughout the season, often scratching or not even winning. However, they still came through with a glorious victory over shore in iron cove. A fond memory that lives rent free in my head. Go Kings.

Fellas The Biggest Debate of all,

Which is the best rowing video of all time.

My Top 3
(Tied 1st)-Scots 2021 -Kings 2021
(2nd) -Kings 2020
(3rd)- Kings 2022

Kings sure have had some cracking rowing videos.
My favourite is the Kings 2022 video.

If you feel like posting anything about Qld GPS rowing, please do.
I gave away coaching around 2013 so I'm out of the loop these days....

Our Head of the River is on Saturday though so will venture out for a look.

TSS look like the crew to beat this year

I do feel for the kings boys (4s) who have been there all season, to have their seats taken by bigger boys is a shame.
-Professor
Well said, Professor. Either they end up stacking their lower boats affecting the other schools or the boys take the positions of those in higher boats. It sucks for those boys in the higher boats, but it's inevitable. The King's program has to be held responsible.

For what? Your constant bemoaning of Kings 'stacking' is based on one race, in a difficult circumstance balancing returning/existing rowers.

Whats next, Kings stacking the 1st VIII?

I'm not just basing this on one race. There have been significant margins between the 3rd and 4th IV's of Kings in which the 4th IV have been the victors. I get that there is some inconsistency in crews each week with various blokes away but I think it should be becoming pretty evident for the Kings coaches who the stronger ones are - or at least that should be the case. Would love to hear from someone who knows more about the situation.

Fair point though - happy to hear other opinions.

I made no reference to cheating, intimidation, interference or abject disrespect for the umpire and rules of racing. From what I have always said, it was a fairly won race. However you, FCD have done all of the above. Hence why you are banned. ;)

I personally believe that the 4th kings crew and the 3rds should sawp. The 4ths are constantly winning between the two. Intresting that this is the case this late into the season.

Which schools have started their tapering yet? I understand that from previous schools they would start around this time, and cutting back on the load.
-Professor
Shore and King’s have historically been known for holding off the taper for longer, with St Joseph’s and Grammar usually tapering the earliest. I reckon end of this week will be the start of the end.

Shore’s Fours have been withheld. God only knows whats going on in their shed. Apparently been indecision, but it seems the King’s First Junior IV have been forced to move up into the 3rd Four race.

As previously mentioned, all firsts crews besides Shore remain unchanged going into the big dance.
It's a shame to see that the shore IV's can't decide crews so close to HOTR, but as long as they can bring it together for the big day, thats all that matters. After all the Shore IV's are the best preforming IV's all time in the AAGPS so i'm sure they know what they are doing.

My thoughts going into HOTR is mainly about the Stroke Seats of each boat.

Rogers is attempting to throw King’s on his back and capture his second Major Rennie.

Mitchell is desperately trying to prove himself as one of St Joseph’s best rowers of the 2010’s, and bring the Major Rennie back to Hunters Hill for the 2nd time in 51 years.

The untested talents of Field and Harvey take the helms of boats that pride their rowing, and mark down their name next year is the best rowers in the GPS.

Who will come out on top? Let me know your thoughts.
