Wallabies 2025

The Bulldozer

Can’t see Porecki getting a start given the sudden depth we have at hooker. Faessler must be in some doubt given his injury too. Not sure on the current status of BPA.

Pollard, Asiata, Dolly and Lonergan have all been in good form and Nasser is now back from injury too.

If all fit I assume Pollard, Faessler & BPA would be first called up with 1-2 out of the other 5 in line if they aren’t.
Definetely. Wouldn't even have Porecki as the Tahs best hooker this year

If fit it'll be Faz Pollard and Porecki for mine. My guess here is that Schmidt will recognise the talent and experience of Faz and Porecki as the 2 premier hookers in the country. Pollard an unlucky 3rd stringer.
Very true. Can't forget that Porecki has captained the Wallabies before which would affect selection

If it's talent and experience doesn't that push BPA ahead of Porecki?

On experience he's played one more test, about twice as many pro games, and played for Schmidt's wallabies. Talent is obviosuly subjective, but he's generally regarded as the premier scrumaging hooker in the country and while it's not all on the hooker, the Force's lineout is the best in the comp compared to the tahs coming 8th (with only 69% success against the Reds last week).

You could make the claim he's ahead of Faessler on that count too (and with Faessler's injury he might well be), but Faessler does have incumbency in his favour.

I feel a bit like Porecki is one of those guys whose standing has risen whilst he’s spent time on the sideline.

I clearly don’t rate him as highly as some - neither here nor there I know. But my recollection was that last time he was in the Wallabies there were plenty of people calling for him to be benched. And that was at a time where we didn’t have anywhere near the options we have now.

For me Porecki is with Faessler and BPA as one of the top three hookers in Aus. IS the top three hookers in Aus not good enough for you? Yeah I understand that thinking but I also think things have improved.

I'll not be highly bothered whether or not Porecki makes the squad, but if I'm making selections then he does.

Im not sure if his standing has risen from his position as starting Wallabies hooker? But maybe his standing has stayed the same although fairly unproven since his return from injury.
