Sydney Subbies 2025

What is the deciding factor in a cancelled round vs games being postponed? Depending on what end of the table your playing and if you are at home you’d probably have different thoughts on it.

From the Subbies Ops Manual, under 10. GROUNDS UNFIT FOR PLAY

So the default position appears to be double points for Divs 2-6 as they have the one Wet Weather weekend as a last-gasp catch-all prior to Finals.

Of course, if clubs can agree on a reschedule they must meet the 15 day deadline.

All games cancelled except for

Irish vs Forrest 1s & 2s- Latham
Burraneer vs Forrest Colts- TBA
Chatswood vs Kings- McKay Oval
Maccabi vs Convicts- Burrows Park

I’m amazed anywhere other than the plastic is open.

Wet weather distraction for the 'our game is better' forum if one existed.
Note, no injuries from this.

Ever wondered why Rugby does not allow players to tackle another if they are in the air? (Law 9.11 states “players must not do anything that is dangerous to others including leading with elbow or forearm”.)

League learning the hard way once more. League match Campbelltown vs Oakdale

What is more alarming is the comments
Blue Player: "I am recovering well. Football is football. It’s a contact sport and moving forward I want to get back out there and play footy.”
NRL Physio account apparently tongue in cheek: “Where’s he supposed to go? He can’t disappear. Accidents happen. It’s not his go. It only looks bad in slow motion.”
You can see the video here.
The NRL and league need as much money in the bank as possible as the law suits in 10 years will be enormous. Rugby has many faults, but player welfare isn’t one of them.

The advantage rugby has over league in the concussion issue is the lack of constant head-on collisions off a run-up. That is the big issue that league will have to contend with and it's hard to see how they'll fix that with a 10m offside line.

Letting one or two games go ahead when the other grades in that Div have no chance to reschedule later in the season and with no wet weathers is just dumb. Call a wash out across the board.

It almost seems you don’t want to play Blue Mountains in a make up game?
It’s our home game. The only remaining wet weather weekend is just before semis (assuming there aren’t any other rainy Saturdays before then) or we drag them down to Porters on a Wednesday night.
we want them to come as they are big drinkers and the bus trip will all but guarantee a $20k+ take.

My point is why allow 3 games to go ahead that in all likelyhood the result will be scrubbed as the other round games will never occur.

completely agree. The UK is an interesting example where particpation rates in 'suburban' league has collapsed and the Super League may sell to the NRL for next to nothing. Why oh why is it this country that jail/dv rugby is strong..

Was looking forward to head out to Hudson tomorrow, ladies day ambush was on the cards against Uni.

I think the Patsmen were going to put in a good shift and get a huge upset.
