Shute Shield 2025

It did look good, thought I’d been transported back to the days of Brad Selby and Peter Kay putting a number on the ‘Wicks.

Also flicked back and forth to Millner. Woods were looking good till a red card with 25 to go for swearing at the ref! Uni snuck home in the end thanks to Eamon Doyle scoring the winner. Kid certainly can play. Woods 10 and 15 a handful all game.
Who got the card? They'll get a few weeks for that.

Depends which team you are supporting, I suppose. The game was effectively over as a contest, although the Woodies never stopped trying.
Doesn't matter which team you support. Directing that language at the referee and being silly enough to be heard warrants a red card and some time on the sidelines.
If we allow things like that, the game descends to madness.

No argument from me about the crime. But the loss of a player for the rest of the game is a bit OTT. 20 minutes, okay.

Hills Shire Council has issued a tender for the construction of new playing fields at Fred Caterson Reserve.,

Looks as though things are moving ahead --

Hopefully fast enough to get play going in 2026. Going to be tight tho.

I won't hold my breath.

And fair enough. I'm of the opinion that Council probably has someone lined up to do the work but has to do the tender process for transparency ;)

Having watched the Eels' CoE go up next door over the course of roughly 18 months, I reckon any part of 2026 might be stretching it. Particularly as local residents still aren't happy.

Can anyone explain what's happening in 4th grade with Hunter Wildfires?

They haven't played any games in the first 9 rounds but are scheduled to play from round 10 onwards.

Ha, someone has corrected this since my post!

They're watching you ;)

Bit of progress for the Woods

"The North Sydney Planning Panel was asked to consider the rezoning review and found the plans demonstrated strategic merit and should progress to the planning minister for the next stage of the process.

The proposal was narrowly voted through by the panel. Three members voted in favour, while Ryde councillors Tina Kordrostami and Cameron Last were against."

"Ryde Council did not respond to questions from this masthead. Last month, Mayor Trenton Brown said he was still pursuing a compulsory acquisition and was asking for state and federal government funding to refurbish the fields.

“Recognising its importance, council has set aside funds for the compulsory purchase of TG Millner and is asking the state and federal governments to assist in its subsequent embellishment, in line with the financial aid promised for the redevelopment of Leichhardt Oval in Sydney’s inner west,” Brown said in a letter to Premier Chris Minns and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in May.

“I believe TG Millner is equally deserving of your love – and your money.” "

Lol councils. Keep your grubby broke hands to yourself.
