Norths beat Easts in second grade today - that means they have now beaten Wests (1st) & Easts(3rd) in the last 3 weeks sandwiching a 2 point loss to Bond. Norths sit in 5th spot only 2 points in arrears of GPS.

Ok now the reds season is done / should see the cattle back in clubland

imagine most of the players who predominately featured in Matchday 23 will get the next 2 or 3 weeks off because of mandated rest and recovery player union laws

They also have a game against BIL - don’t know whether the imposed rest starts now or after that game.
it will be interesting to see who comes back and when.
Going on previous years they tend to return later rather than sooner.

uh oh those doggies are coming....Another week another thrashing dished out. They are starting to click again. last 4 games

62-12 vs Bond
45-19 vs Norths
53-5 vs GPS
43-26 vs Sunnybank

Not sure if reds need another winger but damn Matthias Douglas looks like a good prospect.

Should be a great match up at Sylvan Road as the tigers put 50 on Norths over the weekend.
Last year aside the Tigers have performed well at Sylvan Road over the last 4/5 years, and it was a very close affair when they met in round 2. That win by the boys from Bottomley Park probably gave them confidence to go on with their unbeaten run.
I presume Wests will challenge for the Bunter Bowl. I think it was in round 2 that Easts got their hands on the Bunter, only fitting it they handed it back to Wests.
Wests just need to keep the wins rolling and Easts would certainly like another win over Wests before the caravans start rolling into town.
A loss is not a fatal blow to either club.

And look at F&A Easts 131 and Wests 129.

These sides stack up well against each other.

i know this is not the forum for it, but brothers prems colts coming last with only 1 win....whats going on there?
Underperformance in Colts at brothers is a weird conundrum given the strength in grades.
I Could be wrong but they've been poor for the last 3 or 4 years now

I mentioned this in the thread a while back, there are a few board members at Brothers who have concerns about the Rohrig Academy and the way it could be deterring young players.

Brothers have missed out on a couple of good schoolboys from Terrace and Nudgee in particular over the last few years because there were already blokes in the Academy who played their positions. They felt like they wouldn't be able to crack Prem Colts due to that and have gone elsewhere. There was a specific couple of names that were given to me but I can't recall them right now.

I am sure that is not the entire issue, but it seems to be of concern at the club.

I thought that Souths had no money how can they afford Suru because I don’t think Suru goes anywhere without getting a bit of coin to do so.

What do you mean poach back?

Seru had 4/5 years at Easts and left at end 2021 to head to Wests in 2022 where he has been aligned to until the switch to Souths.

Not the first bloke to jump ship from Wests to Souths - SSY, Troy Coker, but first I have known to play for 3 compass clubs

I hope Souths get a good return at allegedly $2,000 a game from a private donor.

As a bloke who has toiled all year in Prems for love of game & club - I don’t know how thrilled I’d be to pack down with a bloke who is getting $2,000 to run out in my club’s jersey.

I know we live in a different age but there is no loyalty in the modern player.

Easts got Suru out of Fiji and he turned his back on them after winning a premiership and now he’s done the same to Wests.

All the clubs love seeing guys (& girls) advance their careers play in Super Rugby, play abroad, etc but I just hate seeing guys switch clubs for what amounts to pocket money.

I don’t understand why De Lutus switched from Easts to Wests this year?
