Wallabies 2025

Given he's capped for the Wallabies, been part of a Shute shield premiership winning side and played 2 years super rugby at 22 I don't think so
He spent most of this year in Shute shield. He played one game for the wallabies, was nowhere up to standard, the side they played was a C grade side as well, they only just won. He didn’t play too well either.

He’s part of a 7 member WTS who are all NSW or Brumby based, presumably due to being close to squad training, in a total squad size of 43. He’s young with the size and speed to be a valuable player in the future and worth some investment in. Doesn’t put him anywhere near the actual Wallaby team.

Not really a selection to get worried about.

The Wallabies squad looks solid with some interesting picks. Notable inclusions are uncapped players Nick Champion de Crespigny and Corey Toole, while James O'Connor missed out despite strong form. The team's mix of youth and experience could bode well for their upcoming fixtures, including the Fiji Test and the British & Irish Lions series.

Quick question re the tour and turn around times for potential players

Lions vs Force: 28 July 23 players
Lions vs QLD: 2 July 23 players
Lions vs Tahs: 5 July 23 players
Wallabies vs Fiji: 6 July 23 players
Lions vs ACT: 9 July 23 players
Lions vs ANZAC: 12 July 23 players
Lions vs Pasifika 22July 23 players

Where are all these 150 players coming from in a two week period? Obviously some will play in more than one game but who?

When are they announcing the ANZAC and Pasifika/Indigenious players?

For the Super Rugby Teams, the answer is the same place they find blokes to play week on week in SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) - their contact list.

I'd imagine where there is a clash or quick turn around to a test, players most likely to be involved in tests won't play in the tour games - and fringe/academy players will plug holes. This isn't unfamiliar territory, the 3 host nations have handled this exact situation for every tour since '89.

NFI on when the AUNZ or PI teams are being announced and both are looking more and more like a oversight.

First 5 games will presumably be completely separate squads.

ANZAC and Pasifica will be glorified baabaas / exhibition games that will barely have a meaningful training session together beforehand - presumably there will be some overlap with the Super Rugby squads + whoever else they can drag in

Yep. I assume these teams will gather no more than a week before the fixture to prepare.

So much for taking it seriously then.

Not so sure about the "strong" form of O Connor. The "five minute" highlight reels look good. But considering he played behind a strong winning pack with the following stats:

15 Games, averaging 24 minutes per game, 85% tackle sucess rate, average kick distance of 23 metres, 19 /25 sucessful kicks for goal, 8 handling errors and 4 penalties conceded, 147 run metres from 35 runs.

You can draw your own conclusions....
