BPA, Koroibete & Samu added to AUNZ team. Joining Frizzel, Fakatava, Havilii, Laumape, Fusitua & Stevensen. I expect others will be waiting till after fiji test / lions squad announcement.

Hope to see LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto), Uru, JTA (Jeffery Toomaga-Allen) (Jeffery Toomaga-Allen), Ross & Philip added to flesh out the forwards - in a dream world with sotutu and/or blackadder/papalii
I thought Samu was a no go. Something to do with insurance costs?

As a slight tangent, I've been pondering a bit about how we evaluate some of these players in different leagues. Top14, Premiership even URC are probably all on par if not stronger competitions than SuperRugby these days, but how does one evaluate the players running around in Japan's League One. Some of these players still look reasonable in that competition, but it always just looks a fair way from the intensity or physicality of some of the other competitions, let alone an International Test.

Same goes for Scotland, their hands are tied. Without their imports they'd be so shit. System is broke.

Those French fuckers though, absolutely no need for them to go stealing players.

How would you set it up differently? I've always thought a respect the place of birth rule which mean't you could never line up in an international against your country of birth would be an interesting change. Would make some WorldCup games interesting. Resisdency even at 5years doesn't entirely work when you have cashed up French clubs able to splash big (for age) academy contracts on o/s youths.

But I do agree with @rugbyAU, we've got to take a serious look at using Ross. Win games and no one cares anyway, ala Scotland or even Ireland with all their ANZ players in the backline.

Tom Donnelly (former All Black , current Force forwards coach) set to replace Parling as the lineout coach. Hilton still in the mix to come in as a forwards coach.
Tom is a great operator.
I thnk we need more overseas experience in our forwards and specialists. Its our achilles heel.

Is it really? its just a line that gets trotted out ever since Eddie Jones played front rowers who were good around the field and not in the srummaging..

We have some great Mauler's lineout and top-level front rowers for our side, and our backrows great. We start to fall off because of depth not because we need overseas coaching.

Really? Name any Australian tight 5 forwards that have been nominated for the World Rugby Dream Team since 21 or say from 2010-2021 in Planet Rugby’s Dream Team?

Our scrum was a joke well before Jones took over and has been for over 15 years

Thor at his best, 7A's is up there maybe not the best but would be one of the best. Angus Bell, is world-class, Slipper for long activity and still great... Will Skelton's been lauded around the world. I would say some of Swain/Frost/Williams recently have been some of the best in Super Rugby. Dan Vickermen and Justin Harrison weren't terrible players either.

But now your talking about players, and not coaches.. I stand by that we are not that fair off the pace, and its cattle not coaching that has let us down.

This idea that Tom Donnelly/Geoff Parling have been better lineout coaches than say, Laurie Fisher and Dan McKellar or Zane Hilton, matter of fact even Ben Mowen... and that its our achillies heal is old news.

And if you didn't notice the Reds and the Force did a number on the Lion's scrum with there starters.

But back to my point, in the Maul Scrum Lineout we aren't that far off the pace, we lose it all putting it all together.

but OldgoldMiner, will truge out that we need Northern coaches to make us better... P.S. Rebel's lineout was shit with Geoff in charge.

So you couldn’t name one and resort to roundabouts there.
These local coaches in 20 years have not been able to produce a single player on that list, despite many being long tome coaches here.
The players are technically just not in that space and you must be the only supporter that thinks that it’s been good enough.

I didn't say it was good enough, I said that importing coaches from the north isn't the go.. and I said Thor at his best was agruebly the best THP in the world.

And there look like there are two of us in this thread who don't agree with you.

EDIT:- It also helps them in the north playing about 50 games more a season than our players currently get, in conditions where scrummaging is advantageous.

Who said the North???
You’re making up your own suggestions and arguing against them. NZ & SA yes, they have all the WC’s for 20 years, so yes I would go where the best are coming from, the same way that Australian League coaches excel in the UK. It’s pretty obvious.

I know not 1 serious rugby supporter that wouldn’t say if our forwards could just match not even dominate, we would be in the top 3.

Wow someone supports you so it must be right.
Edit Tupou is 29 and is now the 4th player within Australia in his position. So much for continued growth at an age where most props are at their best
