Reports that the Lions have blocked other players from appearing in the game as well, for the same reasons, but Samu was already in camp, in Australia and signed for Super Rugby so RA thought he'd be accepted
Interesting they blocked this one but were asking for wallaby players to be released for the provincial games. Feels they just want to upset the wallabies prep. And they wanted to maximise their prep at the start of the tour and taper off.
LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) just got an even bigger license to line them up with and without the ball.

I get the feeling it's not so much that, but just typical rugby blazer behaviour, the CEO holding Australia to the tour agreement as written.

Re the Super Rugby teams, Schmidt said the agreement was
The best intention to have the highest-quality players available and playing

Re this game, the agreement apparently says
only players from Australia’s Super Rugby sides, as well as in some cases Fijian Drua and Moana Pasifika, can be selected.

Dickhead CEO acting like a dickhead CEO

Must have been a very specifically written agreement because he’s signed for the tahs. So lame.

From the Guardian:

Farrell will name his side to face the First Nations and Pasifika XV on Monday. Owen Farrell is expected to make his first start of the tour and is a contender for the captaincy, along with Jamie George, Wales’s Jac Morgan and the Ireland duo of Ryan and Josh van der Flier.
