It's been consistent, but the total rainfall hasn't been massive (http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDN60801/IDN60801.95765.shtml). If they can't deal with a couple of days of this level of rain they have issues. It's looking to pick up today so I guess we'll see how wet it is.

Surely we could have thrown an Australia A v Wallaby game in which I would have thought would have been popular with spectators too, pre the Fiji Test?

Wallabies players wouldn't like Australia A getting cheered over them. (Supposedly this why it only lasted one season when Cricket Australia did it in the 1990s.)
