At 22-0 I flicked over to the darts for a bit, nek minnit it's 24-22 with 10 to go...

Can we claim Tayne Harvey as a 'nua boy @Dan54? Son of Matt & grandson of Bill (who I worked with back in my Council days) so has to be, surely.

Couple classic examples there of why taking a DG & making sure it goes dead if you miss so you don't concede an end-to-end try is often a better option than trying to hold the ball for 10+ hitups & coughing it up on no. five or six. Didn't cost them the W but would've (or should've) been some choice language in the coach's box.

I enjoying this Aucks/Naki game (of course). Naki boys are determined not to let the rain stop them playing their run at every chance play.
Auck boys look to be out of sync today. A few late minute replacements hurting them?

50-8 in those conditions will do me any day of the week. That was quite brutal I thougt, and very skillful.
Anyway we got a shield defense next week, so will be at NP!

Mighty 'nua live on Sky Sport Select from 2pm. That's my must-watch for Sat'dy arvo.

Last-minute decision to attend an unveiling out the back of Matamata meant I spent the arvo & early evening at the local Workingmen's Club followed by both pubs at that end of town. Consequently I didn't get to see any of it :(

I watched a bit of it WOB, between watching BOP/Canterbury game.. Hard to resist watching a game from the Levin Domain for me. It surely looks a picture!

Shield game tomorrow but also King Country defending the Bill Osborne Toanga v Poverty Bay.
Yep obviously I will be at shield game tomorrow WOB, so will mis any chance of seeing the Bill Osborne Toanga if it is on tv.
I actually happy (and so is Mrs) that shield game is 2pm, get home in the daylight, and as I pointed out will catch the second half of 4.30 game at least!

First Shield defence v Southland 31/08: could be interesting as both know how to snatch victory from what looked like certain defeat.

Geez Harbour are awful this year, eh? Feel sorry for Ant Strachan having to commentate this capitulation.

Edit: Macca Springer has a hat-trick inside 25 mins...

Well just returned from the Shield game. Was obviously a bit disappointed when Sopoaga kicked winning goal. But by time I had got to car (5 minutes later, I was over that. Naki lost a bit when JKR twisted his ankle it seemed, but Waikato were always in game and deserved the win .
Was a bloody good day at rugby as most are anyway.

Expect the AB selectors will be keeping a very close eye on Springer.

He’s 1.9metres and 100kg and still only 22. Very quick, elusive, breaks tackles, and a prolific try scorer. A lot to like!
