I'm unsure. I'm fine if that's the case but it never seems clear.Doesn't Reg 9 give certain windows that they have to give him up, and I think that the next tests are outside these windows?

The entirety of the rugby championship is within the regulation 9 windowDoesn't Reg 9 give certain windows that they have to give him up, and I think that the next tests are outside these windows?
There are two Hemisphere Release Periods.
(c) Rugby Championship Release Period
(ii) Unless Council approves otherwise the Rugby Championship Release Period shall operate each year for an eight week period. It shall ordinarily commence on or around the second weekend in August and shall conclude on or around the first weekend in October each year
9.34 (b) Where the Right to Release for Matches is exercised for Players pursuant to the Rugby Championship Release Period and such Players are contracted to Rugby Bodies or Clubs in the northern hemisphere then the exercise of the Right to Release pursuant to this Regulation 9 may be exercised for eight weeks out of the eight week period.
Cool, I'm happy to be wrong, I thought I saw somewhere the window was Jul - Aug. But that was obviously incorrect. The entirety of the rugby championship is within the regulation 9 window
There are multiple windows - two for everyone - the July tests and EOYT, and two hemisphere specific ones - one for the Rugby Championship (other "southern hemisphere" nations have a slightly different version of this) and one for the Six Nations (there's no variation in this one for the "northern hemisphere" nations). Every team effectively gets 3 windows broken into 3 tests, 6 tests (5 for "northern hemisphere teams") and 3 tests.Cool, I'm happy to be wrong, I thought I saw somewhere the window was Jul - Aug. At No 12 perhaps to allow Ikitau to revert to 13? Can't see him displacing any of our first choice six No 6/8s.Good to see Pistol Pete is back in the squad. Would love to see him back in the green and gold
Garrick Morgan is starting to look like a Rugby Union to Rugby League success story in comparison.no.21 on the extended bench so he's likely left off come game day unless there's an injury at Captain run
Cynic in me wonders whether they’ve done this simply to deny some clause for the player to exercise a right to release. Especially given he has only just returned from injury.no.21 on the extended bench so he's likely left off come game day unless there's an injury at Captain run
But rugba league is twice as better as rugba unionCynic in me wonders whether they’ve done this simply to deny some clause for the player to exercise a right to release. Especially given he has only just returned from injury.
Titans have a reputation in this space, last year they dropped a player for remainder of season who was one match short of exercising a right for a big salary bump if he played it.
Just on this - I've always wanted to see these so called toughest sportsmen in the world pack a scrum down against a seasoned BOK pack and see how tough they are. It would actually be life threatening.Tuffest sport in da world...
I agree. Although I think if a Rugby side came and wanted Gordon and he was willing to walk away from the Titans I think they would take it. An instant cap spot and space.Cynic in me wonders whether they’ve done this simply to deny some clause for the player to exercise a right to release. Willing to give the Kangaroos 5 years to learn technique and put on weight?
A scrum is a unique event in Rugby and doesn't really prove any toughness. Wallabies had a camp chair for a scrum for years but I don't think they're soft. I don't think same BOK pack wouldn't last a half of constantly doing shuttle runs backwards and making 30+ tackles.
If it kicked off in a bar I know which group I'd rather stand behind (and walk out the door)

Nope. Forward.assume you were a back?
I would dispute this. They are huge boys who are pushing so hard that they can’t breathe over and over again. And then they get their faces driven into the ground by a pack of 8 if they make a mistake. They are a lot bigger than NRL forwards.A scrum is a unique event in Rugby and doesn't really prove any toughness.
