All true, but none of those requires extra tree clearing which is part of their gripe.

Anyway I'm sure it's just another bump in the road. How big a bump remains to be seen.

at the moment for 2026, it looks like there are zero waratahs players at west harbour (tupou and aho gone), parra (the lock gone) or souths, with a fair few new waratahs players signed who arent connected to any clubs, i wonder where they will end up based on nsw rugby saying they want to fix the west and help the weaker teams get more exposure.

kneepkens from souths came top 5 in ken catchpole this year, did the offseason with force and hasnt had any approach from tahs, in fact i believe he is headed to moana or drua. alan ferrie the lock/backrow from souths, came 2nd in ken catchpole after only arriving at the half way point of the season - no contact by tahs. the parra fullback was the most exciting player ive seen all season, kiwi lad who just capped by samoa vs scotland, not even an invitation to train by tahs.

i totally understand tahs cant sign everyone but they can get plenty of people to train and trial.

Have heard that Norths has finally realised that their colts program is one of the worst in the SS. One of the Sinclair brothers being employed as some sort of head of colts / development officer / fixer. With the schools, clubs that feed into it (Mosman, Hunters HIll, Norths Pirates, Drummoyne) they should be much stronger.

Norths only give a shit about 1st grade. The rest can rot it seems and they don't care as they'll get a few new players next year to keep 1st grade up the pointy end of the table and then people who support Norths can feel all warm and go to lunches and talk about 1st grade being in it yet everything else is garbage.

I guess they want to funnel kids from Shore over with Sinclair but at the same time they've had 1 good year in the last couple decades.

Kids kinda care about it being local but will happily travel from the North Shore to the Eastern Suburbs or Northern Beaches.

having your GM as the head coach of colts likes norths have had, isnt ever going to work

It's interesting not one local kid in the Easts and Norths 1st grade sides. Sad sign of the times that these clubs don't do more to make it happen. At least Easts lower grades is strong.

Easts i think had 4/5 in the GF who came through colts system, gavin, wilson, lancaster, serfontain and grant

Norths in their semi had 4 or 5 who played colts with them, margan, le maitre (straight from school and gordon junior i believe), ryan and barr. possibly another on bench but not 100% sure.

winning in shute shield isnt so much about bringing your juniors in and being a great coach, its about recruitment. who has the most money that can recruit the best and get those players off field settled in the quickest whilst on field those players becoming ingrained into the culture and system.

even colts nowadays is about recruiting the best school kids who most likely have nothing to do with your juniors, those players long term then become 'part of colts and part of the program'

warringah win the shute shield this year with 6 in the staring 15 who played colts with them, 2 others on the bench who played colts for them (1 of them a penrith junior) the other 15 are players who over a period of time, have/had been recruited to come in.

100% but when Eastwood isnt fielding a 4th grade it tells you something. These are the sides that get filled by local guys and stalwarts. The longer it takes to resolve the harder it will be to get back as a wider Club. Doesn't mean you can't have a good 1st Grade.
