Lots of chopping and changing tells me that Schmidt hasn’t locked anyone in. I don’t think selection is ever that straight forward. Well not for our 10s. They’re all have their deficiencies which is annoying and makes it impossible for guys to be a lock.
He’s indicated that he wants Donno to improve defensively. I don’t know when he saw this or picked up on this but I guess he can’t really select him until he’s proven to have fixed that. Brutal but I guess it’s the standard he wants to instil in the 10s. If we lose the game on the weekend it won’t be because Donno didn’t play or Tane did or Stewart had to step into flyhalf. It’ll be our defence, plain and simple. That and maybe our ability to defuse the high ball. I have more confidence with Carter because offers something none of our other 10s, size and athleticism.
Jesus there is some crap in here.
It's tiring to read.
Joe's first pick was Noah. He was injured and it required surgery. Donno was the closer.
For the Lions his first Pick was Lynagh. The lions belted him and took him out but he played well. He was injured. Donno was the closer.
Joe was clear and said after the last HIA he is young and we have to look after him. That is what he has done.
Donno was inline in SA to be picked but tore / strained his ubductor. It hurts and takes time. I lost a season to it.
So he pivots again. He takes Tane and JOC (James O'Connor) while Donno recovers.
The door has revolved through necessity. Not Choice.
One thing about Joe is its harder to get into his team than out of it. He is loyal.
Because of his loyalty many players have grown and matured. Joe looks for their growth, people here just look to be critical.
Many years ago a bloke called Robbie deans pick JOC (James O'Connor) at 10 and people moaned. Now they cheer.
Be happy in the growth of all these young men. They are a team under Joe. They may not win all their games, but, for once over a number of tests I can be proud and say they gave it a crack as a team, not as a team of individuals.
Hope we win on Sunday Morning. It will be hard it is England, but....
