I do understand that Saturday night was a big night for all involved. Just hope that they are not getting too far ahead of themselves. Long way to go starting with Randwick next week - no easy game there.

The next time they play Uni hopefully will be in the GF - a completely different kettle of fish.

Who was it that put the hundy up on Manly pre-season?

They'd be happier than Tom Waterhouse with a mic in his hand at the moment.

Hugh I must humbly confess 'twas I but only on it being a Manly v Uni GF ! Got no takers damn it - should have really gone out on a limb

Perhaps the coaching staff at Scots deserve a litle credit here ?
Oft maligned, to have both Horwitz & Stewart (who were undoubtedly the backbone of the TSC team last year, with both lads exhibiting maturity beyond their years, IMHO) playing 1st Grade straight out of school is pretty special. Perhaps their program helped the boys on their way ? Let's hope they don't end up on the scrap heap........
Good luck to them both.

And Horwitz handled the 10 jumper like a veteran on Saturday.
I believe he played most of his junior rugby at 10 but it was his first game in that position in grade. He's a master of putting support players through gaps.

Good call Coach. I would pay to watch Horwitz and that back line. They are developing their combinations well.

We have to pay. $10 bucks to get in the gate MACCA or is that your ranga head jumping over the fence at Chatswood last weekend?
I have told the ballboys to lock the hatch at the southern end of Coogee Oval too. ;)

^^^That is a very impressive performance, and to achieve that against the Hobbits is an effort to be proud of.

Good effort by the Pirates to score 30 against the Students in slippery conditions at Concord.

Did the pirates score points through the centres ie did the loss of Jim Stewart to Grade have any impact?

Unfancied Rats beat Gordon who last week took the points from a classy Wicks outfit. Go figure. Who'd be a tipper?

55-31 scoreline in todays weather conditions would have made for a very interesting match to watch.

I was at Coogee where all who watched ABC will know it belted down all game - match reports I received from Manly during the game indicated it stayed dry allowing for up tempo game - just a big black cloud over the eastern suburbs yesterday arvo it seems and Manly Oval still in unusually pristine condition for this time of year ! The Manly win all the more meritorious without Natoli and Hodge.

Also raining and very wet under foot at Chatswood oval, error ridden game, biggest surprise was that Gordon were up 18-nil at 1/2 time

A tale of two halves. The Warringah boys came out in the 2nd half and played a controlled forwards game and through some good kicks kept us in our half for the majority of the half. We knew Mark and his lads would be a tough opponent with 4 on the trot. Both teams like moving the ball and whilst there were handling errors there was some wonderful running rugby. Looking forward to the return match at Rat park.

Yes it was a good match even thou the conditions narrowed down what both teams could do with the ball. I trust your No 10 is ok after he's injury which halted Gordon's momentum in the 2nd half. Rats don't play Gordon again so we'll see you hopefully in the finals;)

Thanks Franky, no Steve Hayter is out for the season with a fractured eye socket. Gifted player and it will be hard to replace him.
