What is not needed is another media trial by two British and one Welsh hack. if you remember, it was this trio who may (or may not) (but probably did) have convinced Gosper to intervene in the Adam Thompson case last year.

Pollock has already been tried and found guilty by these three, and will be hung, drawn and quartered the next time he steps foot in the UK

I would have serious reservations about Gosper becoming vocal on either the Pollock or Horwilll case-there are mechanisms in place for both.

Lets hope it doesn't come to this

It's a lottery because Horwill gets off scot-free while this pretty similar incident got 3 weeks

I hardly weigh into discussions about refs or judiciary because I tend to hold the view that no two incidents are the same and the events prior to and after an incident are different, so it's not really possible to compare sanctions.

Also the way a player prepares their defence (if they have one) is key also.

why bring the hemisphere shit up? You reckon SANZAR has a secret little agreement on helping each other out, because of the might of the northern hemisphere? Horwill was very lucky, but it's not like it's the 1st time the citing process didn't get it right in the mind of most.

how about this for a non-citing? Tuilagi just got a red card plus two weeks off for a similar "tackle".:p

S'funny. Dont remember Tuilagi playing last night. I've seen plenty of footage of his meetings with Ashton on youtube and yes the judiciary was wrong both times. However that has nothing to do with what has happened here. Your point is irrelevant. If the incident was by a player in red not yellow then this site would have been full of the same complaints as you are now going to hear from the British press. It isa bad decision but there is nothing that can be done

It will be more than them who weigh in.

Last time I looked Wales was part of Britain

I should have made it clear I meant Alesana Tuilagi, who played for Manu Samoa yesterday (tackle on JdV).
I agree the decision was wrong, and I agree there would be an outrage on here had it been the other way around.
BUT I wholeheartedly facking disagree with the perceived notion that there's an alliance of Southern hemisphere officials united against Northern hemisphere rugby teams.

This is the third time its happened in recent times on a lions tour Burger Eye gouging in SA,Umunger and muliana spear tackle on BOD, why should I think anything else, Warburton spear tackle WC told by the IRB to say the ref was right red card and 3 weeks ban Go fuck your self.

By the Way I'm not complaining about Oz rugby Just that the IRB get it completely wrong most of the time, I have no gripe with what happens on the field, just the way it seems to be officiated for us and yoyu.

Barefoot, 5 miles and we made our own lunch.
Lunch?? You had lunch??? Geez you don't know how lucky you were!!!

Seriously though HJ, I like you a bloody surprised at him getting off, and as a kiwi all my mates at club will get full ribbing about any supposed dirty acts done by All Black players..... Shall I get Loe's address so everyone can send their letter of apology to him???

Bollocks. this is not a court of law, thank god. or do you think he should have been arrested on the spot? On that argument no one would ever be suspended. Video evidence alone cannot meet the reasonable doubt standard of the court.

Bullshit excuses good enough for judiciary here it seems
You can drop the "here".
This is IRB sanctioned so, in a sense, the home unions only have themselves to blame.
And you can choke on your G+Ts when you realise that one of your own, one of her Majesty's counsel in and for New Zealand, made the finding: http://www.linkedin.com/profile/vie...S&pvs=pp&pohelp=&trk=ndir_viewmore&_mSplash=1
As for @HughJarse is this a wind up? He was found not guilty: not convicted and then flayed with a wet lettuce.

Not sure what you're saying.
He's a QC (Quade Cooper) from a British outpost on the other side of the ditch. So don't attribute any bias to him on the basis of his decision having been made "here".
Given his linkedin address I'd say he's an academic. But your beloved and controlled IRB appointed him.

not my beloved IRB, If you've seen the replay of the stamping how can you say he was knocked off balance by the lions charging the ruck then put your right foot outside your left to steady your self surely you would put your right foot to the right of your left foot, was a fucking carve up, if it had been a gold shirt on the end of someones boot he'd be on the boat home and you know it

Dai bando most posters in this thread seem to agree he should have been suspended. Perhaps best not to paint with such broad strokes about conspiracies. If you haven't noticed the random penalty generator that is the judicial process in rugby in recent years, I might wonder how much rugby you watch! ;)
I am surprised he got off, but hardly amazed.

After the last two tours, why is anyone surprised? In 2001 they nearly succeeded in smearing ROG for McRae's thuggery. We had the last laugh when that c''t turned up in TP playing for Gloucester. I don't see the point in all the whinging after the event, the fix is always in so let the Southern Hemisphere get on financially without The Lions. How much must the ARU be making out of this Lions tour?

ROG delivered a double flying elbow into McRae well after the ball left the scene, having previously taken him out at another ruck.

The fact that it was boy versus man, and none of the forwards stuck around to help, is the real issue.

Don't pick a fight you're not prepared to win

You must have missed the Lions' in 1989, who turned the series into a bloodbath, not to mention at least one of the provincial games too. Might want to step down from that high horse of righteousness, pop the tinfoil hat away, and move on when it comes to whining about sanctioned thuggery.
He should have been suspended in all probability, he wasn't, maybe take a few breaths and move on.
