Come to think of it, the fact that you were willing to go through pages of forum posts to systematically locate references to Pritchard being a good player is probably indicative of the fact that someone touched one of your "nerves" .

.

Really? You don't like baseless accusations, but you respond with one?

Going through posts is actually gathering some evidence rather than unsubstantiated opinion.

In fact I have seen both boys play and rate them both as good players. I am objective and disinterested in that I have no connection to either boy, whereas some posters may go to school with one.;)

By no means am I accusing you of anything Hands - I was being somewhat facetious - but, even if I was, I hope you realise the frivolous nature upon which these assertions are made.

It's not the evidence I dispute, it's the way you have interpreted it that gets me, because that's where the conspiracies emerge.

Anyway, enough of all this. Let's return to the stuff that matters. What time, and where, is the game between GPS and CHS tomorrow?

Snip.

A timely truce, AKA. Courtesy of HJ from the Schools thread, venue & times for tomorrow's games are:

Friday 20th June - Curagul Field, North Turramurra
CAS II v Country 9:00am
ISA II v GPS (Blue) 10.15am
CCC v GPS (White) 11.30am
CAS I v ISA I 12:45pm
CHS II v GPS II 2.00pm
CHS I v GPS I 3.15pm

If you get there I'd be keen to read your match review/s. Great that there is such depth with the hookers to spark such debate.

Awful, political selections as usual. How could GPS possibly justify an all Newington front row in light of Riverview's dominance over them today.
Pritchard and Fotukava should feel hard done by, while Woodhill, Sepesa, Kennewell, et al. have been unfairly screwed over. Certain individuals in the 2nds are far better than those in the 1sts.
At the end of the day it doesn't matter too much, this will be filtered out at higher levels (e.g. NSW), as it normally is, but I am simply stunned by some of these selections.

What a Flog! politics has nothing to do with it, view beat New through the back line, News forward pack were the better of the two. Vuni and Matt Serhon are the obvious choices, Liamani is just as competitive for the spot as any other loosehead in the GPS

Pain of a field to get to - I would rather the convenience of Knox with the station but a stone throw away. We'll see.

Getting a good car park in the vicinity of Curagul is difficult.

Any spectators are advised to get there early, real early.

Have all the school kid barrackers left for their holidays already?
I expected this thread to be updating quicker than my internet could follow after today.

so
You are a couple of hours early.
So should I just hit refresh until the NSW teams are announced?
Unless they're on emirates with inflight wifi they'll be out of trolling range.
That suggests that the barrackers have learnt from HJ's frequent pointing out that the selectors don't look on here for inspiration.

Wrong thread SE.
Best to keep one's powder dry until the fat lady sings, just to mix a few metaphors - unless, of course she has already whispered in your ear

Very true re selections - there's lots of politics to consider...

Re your comment on the wrong thread - how so? Could have sworn GPS were playing out there today and would be interested in forum chat re selections!?! However, given your comment, I'll desist.

PS: heard lots of whispers, but your fat lady comment holds.

The reason its the wrong thread is because they aint picking' any more GPS sides this year so unless you're talking cricket (and i know that's not your summer sport) there will be no surprise selection in GPS 2014!
The whispers I've heard over the years that have ruined blokes practices would make your hair curl - mind you you'd probably kill to have hair, curled or not!

Completely wrong thread @Sideline Eye and it is borderline trolling.

We have a thread for discussing selection politics, and one to discuss the NSW Schools 2014.

It is patently obvious your alignment is not with AAGPS. You have made no secret of that.

If you want banter on NSW Schools selections then post your banter on that thread. If you are going to post there, then please add a little more value to your post than "there might be some surprises." There are always surprises.

I attended a few of the games today (from the 2nd half of the ISA-CAS game onwards), and I must say I was somewhat disappointed with the standard of play, in general.

All the games were quite stop-start, with lots of handling errors. This is understandable considering the fact that the teams (particularly GPS) hadn't had much time together, and there was also a heavy downpour at one stage, but it still would have been nice to see some more cohesive rugby.

Results wise ISA defeated CAS, and GPS won both games against CHS, but all of them were close.

In terms of individual performances, I thought Crichton, the Scots #8, was outstanding (MOTM), while McGregor (View #10) had a very strong game. Both showed great strength in the collision - consistently getting over the advantage line, with Crichton in particular carrying multiple defenders with him every time he got the ball.

Tom Wright (#11 Joeys), was very, very good in general play, and at one point made arguably the best breaks I've seen in a long time, from inside his own 22. Based on this performance he will be a serious threat for the rest of the season, and could be a contender for NSW 1s.
On that note Hutcho (View 13.) was quiet by his usual standards, but he was impressive in the contact zone, consistently swerving out of; ducking; and bouncing off tackles - at no stage was he wrapped up by the first tackler.

Jum Woodhill (Shore #7) and Jack Hayson (View #6) were strong in the 2nds, and were both rewarded with substantial game time in the 1sts. Fotukava (View #1) also made great use of his limited time in the 1s with some effective ball running and hard work.

Connor O'Shea (Joeys #10) was tenacious in the 2nds, with consistently effective runs. I think that, at times, he overplayed his hand a little bit, but in general he gave a great performance.

Other good performances by GPS boys include: Freeman (View #15), Sepesa (New. #14), and Beau Peterson (View #5), who all put in convincing performances.

From a coaching/technical perspective, it was great to see lots of boys staying on their feet and implementing some leg drive. It's one of those small things I like to see, and it was very effective - guys like Crichton gained so many extra metres through this.

On a non-GPS note, who is the CHS 2nds #8? He was huge, and wasn't too bad a player.

My feedback is the balls were substandard and pumped up too hard.
Those of us who played with leather are preparing a saucer of milk for this generation.

Wrong state I know, but in my day (which would approximate yours IS) a new "Ballymore" footy was a thing of beauty and a dream to kick.

With those tan and white panels they looked great when you kicked torpedoes, and in those days that was pretty much every kick. Shit in the wet though...

I bought my son a new Gilbert yesterday, no excitement there I'm afraid.
