If the Wobs were in the same position as France, I'd expect the Men in Gold to wind the clock down as well. Well played by Les Blues.
I was referring more to Owens. Clock starts then he stands there while everyone has a fucking tea party, get on with it. No urgency to get the scrum set at all.

Conceding the penalty meant they didn't get the advantage that the ref was playing so he pulled the play back. It's just the same as if they'd knocked on, kicked too far or got dumped into touch before advantage was called over.

The penalty is the advantage - should have been awarded

So the question remains; how much importance do we place on attacking spark (Quade Cooper) or extremely accurate kicking (Foley)?

Well fook. France showing they've the potential if nothing else. Whisper it quietly but a very solid start to this year under the radar with the RWC upcoming.

Aus made a few mistakes but just didn't get into this. How can you however when the French play in that mood with ball carriers at the 20 stone mark with huge acceleration.

FKN SLOTH. Course it was him in the end.

I have literally no idea what the structure of our backline was throughuot that second half - but it didnt fucking matter cos we couldn't keep the ball too save our lives. Cooper looked good but geezus our skill was shit tonight.

Don't blame Robinson for Alexander's crap technique.

Gutted, they should have taken the 3 points when the yellow card came out.

We did not deserve to win that game. Far too many basic errors and bad decisions.

French had few chances and took them with gusto. Well played them.

Overall not a bad game, even though the good guys lost.

Some interesting replacements from TGC that will be debated for a while.

9-10 years of Forward pack shit, How the fuck does Ben Alexander keep getting selected he wouldn't make a Currie Cup reserve grade front row.

Our 2nd row completely sucks & I don't think I saw one ruck Turnover how I pray that Pocock plays the entire season next year.

The Rant

Fred Wood (13)
Our trouble is we have too many players who 'on their night' are great players capable of great things - but the reality is they just don't or can't produce those performaces week in week out - so until then I think we're damned to these hot and cold performances.

Full time. Congrats France. Deserved win, albeit that it was thrilling last 10. We were pretty poor across the field plus we should have brought on more subs earlier. I reckon Fainga'a was about our best forward and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) our best back. Probably the worst game from izzy in gold, why can't he be better in defence?

The bench was the difference. I'm sure this is a reoccurring theme. Anyway as a neutral that was a great test match!

i think i am a one-out, perhaps a two-out with Mr Jarse.

that was a magnificent spectacle.
brilliant.

we may see those two teams again in the biggest game of 2015.

good night all

Phibbs - Foley axis too one dimensional, backrow unbalanced with the newby and need 2nd row with sting - thought Simmons, McCalman & played well - benchwarmers on too late - Dont know how Foley's up and under could work given lack of chasers, reluctance to use the potential backline fire power with ball in hand or adjusting tactics to defences - kicked well though - wins sum games perhaps Chieka systems still need ironing out.
