Huge congats to Padua for their first undefeated premiership, and also to Iona for their first 1st XI football premiership. I seriously hope that the AIC and Chairmans boys give the GPS boys some hell.

On another note, can everyone compile a list of 1st XV players returning next year? Just so we can all know how strong the competition will be. This is all I know.

Congratulations to Padua on their first sole premiership, clearly the best team of 2015.

With about 6 boys returning fron their 2015 premiership side Eddies have been a major disappointment, losing 3/6 without even playing away against Ashgrove.

Any identifiable reasons for SEC's poor season? The reported crowd, or lack thereof, today should be a concern to them.

From what I saw when they played Pauda they were missing there big ball running centre from last year , there prop from last year who made chairmans I think and there was a big and tall bloke on the sidelines with a sling on. I know that the centre is Josh Fernandez and the prop was Darece Anae. Not sure if the guy on the sideline who was by far there biggest player actually was a member or not. Congratulations to Padua.

Ladder Prediction for next year -
1. Padua
2. Ashgrove
3. Pats
4. Peters
5. Iona
6. Lauries
7. St Edmund's
8. Villanova

Pats vs Eddies called it! 20-15

Number 22 deserves a medal aye, it was amazing to see this man help out an opposition player with cramps, suprised that a player from eddies could provide such a sportsmanship from such a grubby team at times. I watched many games and played one personally they just want to fight if they're not winning, very like hot heads.

Initially congrats to Ashgrove on winning 2nd XV premiership again.

Not trying to defend eddies here, yes they are a grubby hot head team but Pats are as well. Even I know Padua is a very hot head team.

I would not be surprised if Padua thrash every team by 30 next year. That forward pack will have many in the aic team.

Who will get aic 1 prop next year? Usher or Rafter?

1. Tom Rafter, Ashgrove or Liam Usher
2.
3. Tom O'Toole, Padua
4. Michael Wood, Padua
5. Enright, Ashgrove (I think he is in year 11 otherwise Sonny Ah-San)
6. Wratten, Ashgrove
7.
8. Justin Sikimeti, Pats

I actually thought Eddies would of won this game. Who played well from both sides?

Ashgrove:
#1 Tom Rafter
#6 Allan Wratten
#9 Jaz Day
#10 Isaac de Flavis
# 14 Ben Loff/Charlie Renouf.

Not sure that Renouf (son of Steve) actually got on that paddock after earning a wing spot in the pre-season, was ill or injured thereafter, but he'll be a a big factor next year- Qld U15 league rep in 2014.

Ethan McCall (lock, son of Rod) came on as a replacement several times this year as well, massive unit, needs to spend the next 6 months in the gym to maximise his potential.

Rafter has superior scrum skills, he should play 3 with O'Toole at 1. Honestly, I would love to see Usher as the hooker. He's quite mobile as a prop. Also the 6 should be a lineout option, so Sikimeti will play 6 again with Wratten perhaps playing 7 and Tim Albion from Iona at 8.

It's really stupid predicting at this stage though.

Not really, I'd say it's fair to say this forward pack wont change much. only positions I see up for grabs are 2. 5. 6. and 7.

Usher at 2. would be good to see. Not worth wasting him on the bench.

Very entertaining game at Banyo today..plenty of running rugby from Padua which set the game up early..hat's off to St Peters tho as they never gave up all day and came away with some late tries at the back end of the second half, however the game was well and truly over by then. A very dominant display by the Padua forwards..the whole team were very humble in winning.great to see..only one yellow card.
Excellent school turnout for the final game with plenty of the younger students watching on...One standout for St Pats was there left winger and outside centre...both know their way to the try line.
Overall St Pats were out classed on the day by a very well drilled Padua outfit..Congratulations Padua on winning their first outright AIC premiership.

Don't you mean St Peters?

I think the premierships were as follows:
7A Ashgrove and Villa
8A Ashgrove
14 St Pats and Lauries
15 Ashgrove
16 Padua
1st Padua
2nds Ashgrove

Excellent day at Lauries with all games played at one location. Very good atmosphere and excellent crowds. Good model for next year.

14A: St Pats and Lauries tied premiers (I think. Can somebody confirm that Lauries beat Ashgrove today).
Both undefeated as it was a tie between them in round 5. Second year undefeated for the SPC boys who last year tied with Marist.

1st XI soccer: Tied premiership - SPC and Iona
Lauries had a good win against Ashgrove in the 14A's.

Has anyone else noticed the amount of Ashgrove players in the AIC 1? I personally believe the whole competition is in corruption (seriously). There is no way that with 4/5 players in the team with 2 on reserve that the coach, that is also an Ashgrove coach picked a side that was not biased towards MCA. No wonder all these people and MCA parents are complaining about how the competition is not as good as it used to be 10 years ago. The fact is instead of getting flogged by Ashgrove and never having the believe that it is possible to win, now we are seeing schools like Pats, Padua and Eddies are actually putting up a good fight. Ashgrove aren't used to loosing considering the reputation the school has, the program is no different to that of at these other schools but people just go there because they want to win. I'm sorry but there is no way that the Ashgrove centres selected in the AIC 1 are near comparable to some others in the competition. The Ashgrove forwards deserve to be picked in the AIC team although. I'm really looking forward to next year. We will see how Ashgrove reacts to sudden defeats and how their rugby program moves forward. Other schools should see the belief that it is possible, and actually go to a game against ASH with confidence.

I've noticed a few things from this year's competition;
- the new 1:30 game time must be changed, the whole atmosphere has weaked given of those last home ground games or big school matches. Why do the games still start at 8:00 am when there is only around 12-16 games during the whole day. Surely they can start at 10:00 and pushed 1sts back to 3:30 or 3:15. People that work too cannot make the earlier game time and it can be too hot at times. But a positive is that you're not packing up/cleaning up after drinks and food in the dark or around 5:30.

- but a negative about this is having games at different venues. It really puts the pressure on parents, coordinators etc.
- rugby union changed to term 3???, I wouldn't like to see this but it would really benefit supplementary teams into both comps in bris.

I think the above statements about Ashgrove are a little far fetched. Sullivan (the 12 for Ashgrove and AIC 1), played a great game yesterday considering the conditions. His footwork makes him beat almost every front tackle, and in defence he is very solid (league background I believe), however his size could render him a little under the pump against GPS. And another thing is Mohr the fullback, played a blinder yesterday. Setup so many opportunities so I have no doubt in his attack abilities, however I would be interested too see what his defence is like

Basically I believe the Ashgrove players earned their spot. And I also think it's rediculous how you're criticising the coach, I think if you look back at past years, exactly the same situation has occurred with other schools coaches. The fact of the matter is Ashgrove finished outright second, and I believe all players deserved their spots.
