The Grammar lad is all class. I recall he also is a genuine cricketer too. A well rounded young man that will, I am sure, take this in his stride. Just because his school doesn't have the cattle like the others doesn't mean he isn't worthy. A young man who will aspire to better things.

After seeing Alec and his accolades displayed proudly on his blazer f I'm surprised he is able to move in it! Seems like the only fitting thing to do would be to retire his blazer (jersey) like they do in basketball.

Please, can we stop the fanboy posts for the kid. No doubt he is talented and is unlucky being injured but thems are the breaks. He is not the first to be injured on the cusp of higher selection. What about the boys selected but unable to play this week due to injury?
Lets hope he has a great rehab and focusses on Colts and Under 20s football as he will be a highly valued player with low points (think Luke Lough; Guy Porter - both highly rated players who suffered injuries at wrong times).
And quite a few boys who play 1st XV Rugby also play a second high level sport such as Rowing, Basketball, Cricket, Athletics, Swimming and even Tennis. It is generally because they are athletically gifted.
Back to the footy - who is going to play 10 and 12 for GPS 1sts now?

I'd commend that some posters either re-acquaint themselves with the Schoolboy Forum Rules, or read them for the first time.
Following that simple task, they may want to consider editing, or deleting some of their material, before the moderators have to do it for them.
If the moderators get involved, it is likely cards will be issued.

As much as he would like to play he has been advised by medicos it would not be smart to continue playing. Real shame for the young lad. As discussed tonight, injuries are a cruel reality of any sport

Have we confirmed that the reason why he didn't play GPS 2nds is because he's throwing a tantrum after not making 1sts? If that's the case it's very disappointing, especially seeing how many boys in the competition (including many of his teammates) would've killed to make that team.
It would also do his chances at making NSW 1s or 2s no favours. But Bailey seems like a good kid and I'm sure he has a valid reason for not playing.

Also, considering Grammar, despite a good cricket team this year, are not regularly contenders in the ball and bat avenue, it is not so much the highest of accolades, combined with a team that has played in the 3rds comp for a few years now. Once again, not to discredit him - great bowler too. However, the point remains; there are many boys who have been successful in multiple codes, and to simply promote one in which you have a close association with is quite embarrassing. To name a few currently; Rhys Miller - cricket and rugby. Will Terry and Ollie Smeallie - Basketball and Rugby.
