Very disappointing. So because of administrative incompetence of SANZAAR and ARU when expanding the competition they are going to cut a team that has either been in comp for 7 years or 12 years.

It wasn't even expansion per se, it was the hamfisted way that they did it.

The straw which broke the camel's back in this whole sorry sage was allowing the South Africans to have two conferences to give them two quarter finals. Take that away and the S18 concept is sustainable (to the extent that the multi time zone concept is).

3 x 6 would have worked a whole lot better than what we ended up with.

What's the bet the ARU tomorrow will announce that they still have a process to go through to determine which team gets cut? So if that's the case more indecision and speculation will ensue.

And does anyone have any faith in whatever process that they set up?

These guys couldn't organise a Christmas party at the north pole.

ARU you absolute spinless wimps. You have no care for australian rugby but only yourselves to which you are sacked.

Stick your "true rugby people" comment up your ass.

I was raised in an AFL state and that was the only choice i was ever aware of. Yes The West sucks at spreading sports news. They concentrate on AFL and mostly gossip more than sport unfortunately.

WA was has/is/will always have true rugby people but when the establishment tells them to get fucked. Why should we support any other team. Im sorry but loyal i am and loyal i will stay. If there is no rugby in WA then i have no loyalty ro the sport.

ARU is supported by a board of greedy halfwits who keep thinking of rugby in its unprofessional era. You never wanted progress and congratulations you can hold your head up high. You inherited a great game and you killed it

Disgusted i am

Here til the end

Yep. Something like, 'The ARU need to now form a study group to go through the teams here in Australia to work out which synergies align with our economies of scale to produce the best fit for our developing yet agile sporting environment to provide best fiscal practices.....' blah blah fucking blah....

The fucking Melbourne rebels have about 3 supporters, produced fuck all in the way of talent and exist in a market place where it will NEVER FUCKING GROW.

The Force have a small but strong and growing supporter base, produce fucking Wallabies, and are actually a half decent rugby team. The fucking Rebels will end up wooden spooners in a conference with the Sunwolves for fuck sake.

You do realize there is more current wallabies at the rebels than the force atm?

Hodge, naivalu, McMahon, Hansen and Timani

You do also realize crowd sizes are almost identical and our u20s has been 2nd and 3rd in the past 2 years.

As for performance the rebels have finished higher on the table 4 of 6 years of existence.

I can understand people's frustration but when letting it out please apply some context and realize what you are saying is factual.

There is no winners here but stop trying to highlight a loser

8 team finals retained in a 15 team comp. Surely 4 teams (3 conference winners plus the best of the rest) would be much better. Makes the whole season a bit pointless currently.

This is the shitty thing. Teams are getting judged against entities that have been around for a long time. Both regions are also probably the only areas of actual growth at an amateur level in the past 5 years. All abit confusing

This will create the illusion of success, key for marketing

The ARU is set to hold a press conference on Monday morning, after a board meeting on Sunday afternoon, but there will be no announcement on which team will be cut from the Australian conference.
While it would appear that the Rebels and the Force are the two teams most vulnerable, the ARU is believed to announce a forthcoming process to determine which team deserves to be cut.

End of June SA are hinting it will take them to decide. So this could drag out a while yet if our process is anything like that.

Oh fuck me dead - announce a 'forthcoming process to determine which team will be cut'.

Is there no limit to their institutional idiocy and appalling judgement?

Pandaram still writing confidently tonight that the decision is already made to cut the Force.
