I'd say clubs must be resting players. I agree with Bulldog, Lynch, Fidow and Hutchinson should be first picked in their positions, have been great all year.
If the team was seriously picked on form these guys would have walked it in.
Jeeps
Burke, Liaone, Gormo, Ricko
UQ
Potgieter, DeGuingand, Cornelsen, Dalgleish, Birch
Bank
Chazz, Fines
Souths
Levi, Tafili
Norths
Tonga Maafu
Bond
Neville

Red Heavy

UQ has the Halley Appleby Memorial Ball on the night before which was set before this game was announced so none of the Prems boys put up their hand to play.

The 2 UQ boys in the team are colts but still very good players

Clubs were asked to nominate players and apparently the Wests club decided that they didn't want to nominate anyone - I won't make comment on whether IMO that was a good or bad decision.

But I don't think anyone at the club should be complaining that no one was selected in either side.

Other clubs, especially brothers, always did love to beat on sunnybank. Moonrat is this still sour grapes from the absolute flogging you copped at Oldmac last month? The beauty of a club like sunnybank is the depth and strength of the whole club. You are right that they have about 8 players out and gone but I am prepared to wager that they will still come up trumps over souths. Even with those 8 players out the team on paper is still one of the strongest in the comp. McIntyre, Laloifi, Strachan, Isaac Lucas, Chazz Mahina. and Richard Kingi is a pretty good replacement for Isaac Fines. A safer bet is that brothers will lose to Easts this weekend. The slide will continue.

How have Brothers loved to 'Beat' on Sunnybank in the past? No-one from Brothers said we were going to flog you at Oldmac this year. If anything a Sunnybank win was expected given your form. You're overacting to an individual supporter giving their tips for this weekend.

Wow that's horrible. They didn't even nominate anyone?

Genuinely believed Wests were turning around the culture of the club and then they (being the brains trust) do a dumb thing like this? Would be fascinated to know their logic.

Hey look at Wests 3x most recent NRC players. Jeremiah Lynch, Tim Smith and Tyrone Lefau... 2 of those boys are not even at the kennel anymore. Why on gods earth would any Wests supporter want to go to a representative match or NRC match when we have nobody in these teams to support?

or maybe there were better players in the same position as players nominated from Wests.......

I understand that and am fully ok with better players being selected but a token doggy on the bench who can be a reason for a doggy supporter to go. That's all I was curious about (my comment was tongue and cheek by the way)

Can fully understand them not nominating anyone. What if one of them gets injured and is ruled out for the rest of the season. The fixture in hindsight doesn't mean too much. Yes it's a celebration of QLD Rugby but for Wests the bigger picture is their first finals birth since 2006 I assume.
Could be wrong.

A birdie tells me that GPS & Easts will have the services of a few Reds Squad members for the remainder of QPR - they have been told that they no longer need to front at Herston in 2017, and they've even been asked not to use the gym at Ballymore.

They include guys who have played for the Barbarians & the Wallabies in the last 12 months.

If this is true I think it's extraordinary.

What's happening at Ballymore with recruitment & retention?

Are the people making these decisions safe themselves? Or are they simply sabotaging the careers of young home grown talent?

Are the Reds any better now than they were under Richard Graham?

Why do they continue to lose young talent and recruit older rugby statesmen in their place?

Who has greater pull at Ballymore the Coach or is it the Wallaby Captain(who may himself feel threatened by some of the talent in the squad)?

To me this is just canablism.

That's pretty salacious. You remind me of the old Greg Growden rumours section.

Who would it be? Obviously Frisby, but who else? Ready?

Maybe there will be room for Genia after all. Frisby to Rebels?

How would this side of Reds Rejects who played QPR stand up against the 2017 Reds?

15. Tom Banks/Aiden Toua;
14. Jonah Placid/Pama Fou;
13. Luke Morahan*/Con Foley;
12. Jono Lance*/UJ Sueteni;
11. JJ Tualigi/Dom Shipperley*;
10. Sam Greene/Mack Mason;
9. Matt Lucas/Iain Prior/Ben Meehan; (Nick Frisby*)
8. Isi Naisarani/Harley Fox/Brad Wilkin;
7. Jarrad Butler; (MichaelGunn)
6. Sean McMahon*/Angus Cottrell;
5. Rory Arnold*/Caderyn Neville;
4. Blake Enever/Alex Toolis;
3. Ben Daley*/Laurie Weekes;
2. James Hanson*/Heath Tessmann; (Andrew Ready)
1. Pettowa Paraka

Selection criteria:
- not wanted; or
- not managed properly;
By the Reds

*There are some 8 Wallabies amongst them. And there are some on this list who may well be Wallabies one day.

Come on Bulldog, divulge! No need to tell your source. My guess is:

Ready
Gunn
Frisby
Tuttle
Kuridrani

I think Tuttle is safe for the time being - well someone has to play #9 but he's probably too young to have a long term future at the Reds!!!!

And I think Kuridrani is refusing to read his emails - just in case he's got mail from the coach!!!!

The going back to the future culture at the Reds must stop - it hasn't worked.

Ok just thought they might be putting their eggs in Geni and Sorovi's basket.
Just a question for the guys with more local knowledge than me. How do you see the Hamish Stewart (obviously now being posted as the next 10 learning under QC (Quade Cooper)) and Isaac Lucas who many would appear to believe has a big future of professional rugby ahead of him. Surely he won't sign for the Reds with a guy on a full contract only a year or so older? Surely that will limit his development and game time opportunity

Bulldog

Nev Cottrell (35)
The Reds have had plenty of QC (Quade Cooper) back ups that have all moved on:
Lucas, Lance, Sueteni, Greene, Mason and McIntyre must be on wood. Let's hope they can manage the promising careers of Stewart & Isaac Lucas a little better because it would appear that they are both talented and good young men.

James Dalgleish is a promising #10 also.

Every club bagged the banks entry to the Comp. no support. Only criticism. Lead Souths 19-0 with 10 to go with such a massively depleted team... well done dragons ... and F@uck the detractors
