sorry not Hardaker who got injured but Dylan Dowling 21 reserve half at 53.30 minute mark.(they look a bit alike - maybe his number upside down) Any idea if the kid ok?? Did not look good

It's like watching....
Two Gnarly Pesky # 7's

Constantly hunting around the mud covered,steamy backs of the seasoned forwards pack, pouncing on his opposite number and showing no mercy upon contact!

Resulting in each of you managing to come away with some well executed turnovers at the breakdown!

The points you have both gained within this well contested match are looking fairly even at the moment fellas!

So for me, watching each of you in this game showing some great....

" BATTLE OF WORDS, MONGREL HITS, & TRICKY GAINS OF TERRITORY"
and of course a few well executed Pilfers' thrown in for good measure!
Has been very entertaining to say the least!

Also, watching other team members of the G&G pack charging down, and giving the occasional shoulder tap has only highlighted the passion flowing through this present game being played that bit more...Phew!

All I can add to my review of this game currently in play is.....

Its very honourable of you to be known for who you are, but the context of this social media platform is for the "phantoms" to air their frustration and vent their passion in a safe environment. Its good excapism from reality :)

This forum should not be the basis for 'real' character assasinations and I would therefore assume most dont use their born names because of the fear of being judged.
Here, you can say whats on your mind(within reason and is monitored by the admin of this G&G forum? )and its like the wind..it blows hot or cold air and we can (readers) choose to respond to it or ignore it. . then we return to our life, where our husbands think they are the experts on all things footy. . .and so I appreciate the non-genda freedom here.

As Siggy Freud says:

Fact is the NSW 1 backline was very pedestrian yesterday with the ball being shuffled sideways.
Happened time and time again from perfect line out ball straight from Frost into the hands of the scrum half.
It's up to the fly half to set his line better or take different options.
How he glides as an individual is irrelevant.
Would respectfully beg to disagree with whoever wrote the report.
But let's move on.
I have Goddard the ACT fly half as first choice in the Australian team.

You cant seriously think everything to do with a backline falls onto the shoulders of the number 10.
It helps to have a combination with the centres and they control things as well. Especially when the centres are being shuffled around.
Its not a fair or realistic comment.
Whether Donaldson gets selected or not remains to be seen. If the selectors think there's 4 better 10s than him then so be it but he didnt do his chances any harm yesterday.

Fair enough. No disagreement from me.

I'm not suggesting for a second that people go by their real name. I get the social media context and I find the 'venting' and 'saying what's really on your mind' posts, in the majority of cases, enlightening and entertaining.

I guess I'm just trying to plant a seed to ward off potentially outrageous comments and accusations from posters that could follow selection announcements.

I like debating on forums. I actually think this is what they're for and not one big circle jerk of agreement. What would be the point?

At the end of the day, you're the one that's punched out 200 words critiquing not the content of the debate, but the debate itself between two members on a discussion forum.

What award does that earn you?

I'm not trying to make this about me, but some.

I would never claim to be a member of the rugby establishment, but I've seen enough of it to see how hard those people work. I chat to them about why they do things and the insane hours they put in and I guess it makes it hard for me to be particularly anti-coach or administrator, even if their outcomes are occasionally questionable.

I actually only noticed this post because of the rant above haha. Funny that. :)

Just as a matter of interest i am posting last years Final when NSW2 defeated NSW1 by 22 to 5.
If for no other reason watch the tries scored by Luke Rixon at around 1.30 minutes and 4.00 mins.
I'm not doubting the 1s coaching staff last year deserved their share of criticism but how do you coach against this?

I would be surprised if Moretti plays tomorrow and I'm sure he will be acknowledged with an Australian jersey even if he doesn't play.

Speaking of which - where did Rixon end up? Hugely talented kid, hows he doing today?

Let's not forget they could very well read this stuff and they are still 'kids'. Well young men really.

I spoke briefly to Billy today and he was putting on a brave face, but you could tell he was gutted to have not been able to take full part on this tournament.

IMO he would have to have been a very good chance of making the final 46. And now he won't be able to due injury.

But remember Rich_E there is only 40 players called up for Aus teams 20 announced for each team, the renaming 6 players selected will be announced sometime in August I believe. As the Aus Selectors take into account those players who were injured prior or during School national trials so there's still hope yet for the lad.

I'm pretty sure it was Dylan Dowling who was more seriously injured yesterday
and Finn Wright NSW2s did his shoulder ... not sure how he is
