Tessman from force aswell - Reds could use a 3rd hooker for next season with Moore retiring, but would require carrying a 4th for this season. Suppose it beats losing a quality player overseas. Brumbies are the weakest at hooker IMO, with a quite aged mannrea and an average at best abel ahead of a rookie Fainga'a

McCalman would be a good addition. A Backrow of him, Holloway and Hooper would be pretty tasty. But the one I would be most excited by is Vui. He's got a future in Gold in my opinion.

So perhaps, 1. Robertson 2. Latu 3. Kepu 4. Simmons 5. Hanigan 6. Dempsey 7. Hooper 8. McCalman? That's a pretty strong pack. If they can provide some go forward ball then Foley, Beale and Folau could be lethal. Feeling much better about this season.

How tall is Holloway? Honestly, if he and Hanigan are about the same height I'd take Holloway at 5 everyday of the week.

Edit: Just looked it up. They're practically the same height. Holloway has more beef on him. I'd have him at 5 then.

Yep agree I would pick Holloway in front of Hanigan, he's been playing very well for the Rams. Not confident Gibson will pick him in front of Hanigan though.

I should also qualify my position by stated that it's not just a case of Holloway being a slightly bigger body either. I think he's the overall better more rounded player of the two. Hanigan tends to hit the rucks with the impact of a blow fly while I've seen Holloway shift bodies. I think Holloway's overall skills with ball in hand are better, I'd bet he's quicker and yes, he'd bend the line far more often than Hanigan does.

But yeah, it's all for nothing if Gibson doesn't see it. Which I'm not all that confident in him doing so.

I think he will be rotated as part of the back row with a couple of the young locks (Staniforth etc) sharing the workload

Meant 2019. When Moore leaves, we will have Ready (average) and Mafi (rookie) with noone else, whereas players like TPN, Leafa, Tessman and maybe even scoble will be forced elsewhere. So when we need a 3rd hooker and a quality one at that....noone will be around. Same for the Rebels if Hanson leaves or Brumbies as Mannrea is super old

In 14 months time I don’t think Mafi will be considered a rookie, I’m expecting he will start more games then Ready in 2018
