I guess he interpretated the angles of the Vunipola case, that he potentially made contact with the head of BB deserving a red card, at least that was my impression.

As a Lions supporter, I was happy he received only a YC card. After seeing different angles and the interference of the TMO try to convince Grace to look at those, I wouldnt be surprised if he gave Vunipola the red card.
