Is the GPS XV, or Biggest Reputation XV?After just one round, I’d say the selectors are already tossing around ideas for the GPS 1st XV—and I thought I’d have a crack at it too. I’ve left out anyone currently signed to league contracts, as they’re unlikely to play or may opt out, like Rodwell and Humphries from N last year.

Could be a rough weekend for Joeys outsides, looking to see how attitude will carry over.Breaking news: Makasini is playing 2's this week
If theres anyone that looks like they can stop him in the seconds camp, I would not put it past those Joeboys. Grit and they love to dig in. Best of luck to them.Could be a rough weekend for Joeys outsides, looking to see how attitude will carry over.
Always been the case, my fresher year over 50 % were from Joeys or Riverview and even higher at Paul’s.It's not really all that suprising considering the fees of USYD colleges. It's a bit like saying there's a lot of props in a pub. Cause and effect really.
View rattled his cage, happens to the best of themInsanity. Newington or Wests move? If Newington don't win in the 2nds this week there should and will be riots at Stanmore. Anyone got any news regarding any reactions to this ???
If Joeys continue their form over to Newington they won’t find a problem. If theres anyone that looks like they can stop him in the seconds camp, I would not put it past those Joeboys. Grit and they love to dig in. Best of luck to them.
Will be a great game to watch...If Joeys continue their form over to Newington they won’t find a problem.
We're talking about a young man's future here, and it's clear that Benji Marshall sees real potential in him. As the season progresses, it’ll be exciting to watch him not only solidify his place in Newington’s side but also take steps toward a future with the Wests Tigers and I'm sure whatever route he chooses he will become a fantastic player.Insanity. Not necessarily. Of course, it would be incredible to see Makasini continue developing in Union—I'd love to see him reach Super Rugby. But in the bigger picture, this could shine a spotlight on school development programs across the board—not just within the GPS system, but in all schools. It’s not just Rugby League scouts who should be paying attention, but Union scouts as well.If true, this will be yet another loss from gps’s rugby union to league. Disappointing stuff…
I would be genuinely shocked if he opted to play union, but the decision is in his hands. Whatever the lad thinks is best for him he should do.We're talking about a young man's future here, and it's clear that Benji Marshall sees real potential in him. TC@Rudderless I was viewing the TKS game on Saturday and seem to have forgotten the dark art of the different form of Kings blazers.
If a cursory explanation could be provided (or by anyone else on the forum) that would be greatly appreciated.
I understand baby blue is premiership? But don't the boys also get their cadet unit ranks on their grey/red one?
Justice aint a flanker. How many crash ball runners you need in one squad?? Fowards these days should be banned from entering the backline, anywhere from the 50 up to the 10 when attacking. The amount of forwrds that have spilt the ball this season when the backs should be kicking for field position or running a move is the most frustrating thing in rugby... Let the backs do their thing, I say.Open side flanker Ashton Thomas (N) had a blinder on the weekend
I think if anyone wants to make the GPS firsts, the back row should be your last point of calling.Open side flanker Ashton Thomas (N) had a blinder on the weekend
And talking of backs, where's the torpedo punt gone???
The game is changing as we speak. Now days teams focus on getting to an edge and setting a structure there. The reason forwards are there is to make the extra 5 meters instead of a back getting crunched. Every team is different however, but this year in the GPS its common to see a flanker or even a hooker partnering up on the edge with a winger. The torpedo kick is good in theroy but with the game getting quicker the punch kick is utilised more. Although it is a good watch to see those outside backs over the high ball!Justice aint a flanker.
