Fuck this
I have spent the past hour wielding the hammer.
Since the CAS thread shut, those trolls have come here and made a ruckus
I am now banning every new member who posts here.
From what I see it is mostly schoolboys from Milsons Point

@cyclopath may wish to make this permanent

Dear AAGPS students, old boys, parents and supporters.

I have deliberated with many people about the future of this thread. A lot happened on Thursday which led to the situation we are in.
To begin with let’s look at some facts.

1. The CAS thread was closed after a multitude of trolls invaded. The thread was closed by Cyclopath as between the two of us we could not keep up with the moderation process.

2. These trolls then descended upon the AAGPS thread. To the credit of the regular posters, they tried to stay out of it. The trolls once more overwhelmed us and hence I shut it down.

3. Trolls then turned their attention to other threads which ended up with them being locked.

Yesterday I was resigned to the possibility that the AAGPS and CAS thread were both going to be deleted and this was the best way forward.

Throughout Saturday I meet many student members, parents and even staff who expressed their disappointment. People commented that over the past few months they had seen an improvement, mainly because the students who were there, were, following the guidelines. This is a credit to their schools, family and the maturity they show. In other words, people missed the thread and knew why it was pulled.

It was late in the day when I was approached by a small group of Kings lads who wanted to say hello. They as well expressed the disappointment and said I should carry a bigger hammer. So, with in mind, here are conditions for the next few months.

For offending posts, no warning will be given, posts deleted.
Permanent bans immediately for the poster and no chance of return.
Existing members who respond in kind to trolls will get the same treatment. Rise above the taunts.
NEW members will not be accepted till further notice.

The CAS thread is the hands of @cyclopath

The thread is open. How long is up to all of us.

I heard about the smashing down at Stanmore yesterday. Any thoughts on what happened out there?

Footy
SHORE were simply outsized and outclassed.

Callaghan tried his hardest but Newington knew what they needed to do to shut him down.

Overall strong performance from Newington. King a stand out.

Newington could easily go the distance and win it all this year

View v Scots at 27/12 is flattering to Scots.

Beautiful day at the swamp. Besides the 11 points in missed very makable kicks missed by View they could/should have gone over at least two more times with the field dominance and a couple white line fever moments. Credit to Scots defence for holding out as much as they did.

With Scots last try coming from two forward passes even Stevie Wonder yelled out about it really could have been 40/5. I’d be very pleased if I was the View coaches. They outplayed their opponents in every facet of the game in what felt like a banana peel in the context of the season.

Scots play a very simplistic game of give it to the big kid and hope. That big kid no.8 is VERY good but there’s nothing coming on the next phase. Backline felt the same, give it to the obvious guy and if that doesn’t work, kick it away. I’m not seeing the idea from them and with coaching changes in the last couple of years I think it’s actually gone backwards from the Smith era where Scots seemed relentless in effort and fitness.

BOG
1. View 9. Had an outstanding game all around
2. View tight 5. Had the scrum on skates.
3. Scots 10. Worked hard all game trying to get them out of trouble.

How good it is to be back.

Shore were absolutely trounced yesterday. No walking away from it.

That being said, I would be genuinely shocked if this Newington side does not win the Premiership.

King (10), Grantham (15) and Davies (3) were particular standouts. They just had it all.

Shore looked shellshocked. To their credit, it was 47-0 with 20 minutes to go, and ended 47-5, with Jarrett scoring a try which I have never seen less celebrated before.

Hopefully this is rock bottom. Thursday at the Bridge is a must win.
