Dennis, I’ll be honest mate, your argument doesn’t really stack up. Grammar have been near the bottom of the GPS for years now, and yet DC haven’t managed to beat them. Now that BGS are finally building some form and actually improving, to say DC beat them at “full strength” doesn’t really add up, especially when you dig into how the game was decided.
From what I heard, the match came down to a bad intercept and a conversion attempt at the end, in a trial. And to be honest, taking the kick to win in a trial just feels off. Trials are meant to be about testing combinations, rotating players, and prepping for the season. Not treating it like a grand final. If you’re celebrating a win off a flukey intercept and a pressure kick in a practice game, it says more about mindset than ability.
Elijah may have been playing, sure, but this isn’t tennis. You win games with 15, not one.
