Thanks Lee - agree we need to keep the focus on what actually happens on the field regardless of these extraneous matters

IRB U/20 Tournament and Oz Squad

Certainly looks like a relationship in NZ and Aust rugby supported by the fact that some became ineligible because they were needed for S15

    AIC Rugby 2011

Agree with your assessment - the best thing about this season has been the closeness of all teams - there was no real blowouts this year compared to prior years. SLC and Villa had poor years but were still in a position to win almost every game. Rather have that sort of competition anytime.

Australian Schoolboys and National Championships 2011

Chris F'Sautia has been injured and therefore has not been picked for the Qld trials however I believe he will be picked for both QLD and Aust based on his impressive track record. The selectors will have long memories of this very talented player. Lee - hard not to be a fan once you have...

    QLD CSS Representative team 2011

Silverback, given you have seen more of Downlands than anyone else, how do you see CSS going this year. Using Downlands as a benchmark, they went down to TSS/BGS/BSHS but beat TGS and a depleted Churchie. They have beaten the AIC premiers comfortably. Says to me that CSS will struggle...

QLD GPS Representative Team - 2011

From what we have heard about his injuries, I reckon they are resting Sautia from the trials - there is no need to risk further injury in such trials and he will be one of the first selected for both QLD and Aust - selectors at this level have long memories and a track record of fast tracking...

    Why is Tom Carter unpickable?

Bottom line is that Tom Carter is never going to win you a game - he probably won't lose it for you either. He won't let you down but then he won't do that something special either. Solid and reliable like the family falcon but Wallabies need something with flair and excitement.

    QLD Premier Rugby 2011

Thanks Dan - seems even more ridiculous for the Bledisloe given reserves won't need a run and it is not as if the gate would be affected. Like your compromise position of Premier games only on the Sunday. Everyone(players/referees and spectators) are all used to Saturdays and plan around that.

The Sunday games were apparently to avoid clashing with Reds games at Suncorp. Lord knows why when the Reds were playing at 7.30 anyway.

What are people's views on the impact of Jason Gilmore (ex QRU talent ID and development) as coach at TGS. From what I have seen, there is no discernible improvements and if anything gone backwards a little. Have only beaten Terrace after a struggle and lost the local derby against Downlands and...

I am also surprised at the reaction to what looks like a well deserved first ever premiership in any grade for rugby at Padua - they are not the prettiest side to watch but their work ethic is second to none. Congratulations boys and good luck against Ash next week for a solo premiership. if...

No doubt that was a much improved effort by GT on Saturday albeit against a Churchie side that seemed to be in 2nd gear and only applied itself when it had to. They seem to have a lot in reserve holding themselves for the bigger games ahead. Not prepared to say that GT has put their season back...

This is showing ignorance at the work that both of these schools have put into their rugby programs. For Eddies, it started with bring in Jim Lucey some years ago and he brought Lester Hampson and they now have a QRU development officer (and old boy) in Lachlan Parkinson as one of their coaches...

Props in backlines - that sounds like a coaches nightmare or a plot to play the game wide and force changes in game strategy from the opposition.
