I think any club involvement would almost certainly eventually lead to Super Rugby team alignment. The NRL teams used to scatter players and then become more and more aligned with singular clubs because it just makes sense for funding and development. Will annoy some people thinking that might be the...

Love the passion and wouldn’t knock any idea. But my concern with something like this is that it doesn’t solve the lack of game issue for Super Rugby players. Because it’s played at similar time it doesn’t solve the issue of players only been exposed to 10-15 pro standard games. We need to get this up to...

My biggest concern and should be everyone’s biggest concern is will all the the Super Rugby players not involved in the wallabies be playing and starting every week in this 3rd tier? These are the guys that need the games to improve our standard. Otherwise it’s just more club games. Having potentially 8...

Maybe it’s the system that consistently makes people look like fools or the constraints they have to force effective change means they go the routes they wouldn’t have to go under a different system

Well it would tick a diversity quota

But that organization doesn’t have the power to progress forward any more than it has been. I’m glad Hamish is gone, he was power hungry no doubt, but for a power hungry guy we saw very little reform because he didn’t have the power to reform. If RA truly had the power he would have used it, no...

I really don’t mind the ‘me’ components. I think it needs to be a ‘me’ and not ‘we’ largely pulling the strings. AFL essentially doesn’t have a ‘we’, infact the Melbourne based clubs have held disdain for the administration for decades because they get shafted in funding and concessions given to...

Next moves here is I’d say the Brumbies will try and manufacture someone that will approve a return to full Super Rugby financial grant, because if it doesn’t come they are in serious trouble and would almost certainly have to go hat in hand to RA like NSW have. So basically the next appointment will...

I think the catch is that for this to be fixed ‘power’ must be ceded. The true power falls with the states and we have just clearly seen this on display, but unfortunately many don’t understand this and believe it sits elsewhere. I’m glad Hamish is gone as he was untenable, but it doesn’t change...

Both very high profile people but more for their previous roles than what they have done as a sports chairman

Little bit in here saying ACT aren’t in a good state and potentially default on a relatively small loan soon. But looking to...

Herbert was the obvious short term appointment, he’s the only one that’s been in similar role from a rugby perspective and a little bit of appeasement for one of the agitators with a QLDer in the role to possibly leverage networks and relationships to get appropriate outcomes.

Can almost guarantee HM isn’t the only one to go in the coming weeks. I believe we will see some blood letting at the state level now. The board is fairly new already at RA and was apparently the fresh pair of eyes needed after the castle debacle, which prob shows it isn’t overly who’s in charge...

What’s becoming clear to me is they all need to go. McLennan is now undoubtedly in an untenable position, QLD and ACT are clearly trying to attempt a coup for the sake of them retaining as much influence as possible. It screams rugby in Australia, incompetent chairman matched with self interest...

Sounds like Victoria is divided on their approach. From what I understand the Rebels right this moment would support the push to remove Hamish but the VRU wouldn’t support. WA appears the opposite with Force not supportive but rugby WA happy to see the back of Hamish.

Fox News reporting that Harrison and the players union backing Hammer, also IOC heavyweight John Coates has backed him to remain. I think he will go as it’s untenable but there is so much more to this, I genuinely believe there is parties outside those pushing for change, saying hey you are...

I agree. I’m happy to see him go as it’s untenable now but the statement from these unions especially QLD and ACT basically indicates he’s at fault for the current performance and not their incompetence the last 20yrs. A lot of shift blame going on because opportunity with public outrage is...

There is 0 rugby in qld schools that isn’t supervised by an accredited coach. It’s the same in Vic, I’d say the same in WA, NSW etc. There is no such thing as a random pick up game allowed of contact sports on a school oval. There is no contact sport offered during physical education lessons...

It’s the same as in QLD, a lot of private schools offer some form of rugby program (obviously not as serious and minus 1/2 programs no recruitment involved) and almost no public schools offer a team.

What are you talking about? It’s the same in every state. I went to school in QLD and you can’t play league or union unless it’s an organised session, I kinda get it as well, you can’t have kids belting each other unsupervised or someone managing without appropriate practice. Im almost 40 now...
