NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2012

Looks like I'm the first one home from Caragul so I'll post some results but leave it to Lee, Stonecutter et al to comment on the games: Arrived towards the end of the Country - AICEs game. Counrty boys looked like they continued their good form with a 60 odd point win. Enjoyed the CCC - GPS III...

    ISA Rugby 2012

Would be interested on your views of yesterday's matches ILTW, including your thoughts on whether any particular players from the IIs deserve a shot in the Is.

Oakhill 26 - St Gregs 0. Match played in heavy conditions with constant rain. Greg's defence very good but Oakhill forwards played well to get the 4 try bonus point win. Blacklock playing at 2 for the injured Holden had a classic hooker's game in the wet to get the player's player for Oakhill.

    ISA Rugby 2012

In response to feedback from ILTW and Observer to my post of last Saturday....... First, my issue is with the ISA selection process & not the individual players from Augustines. I don't have the knowledge required to determine who are the best 15 players from the 240 who play ISA 1st XV rugby...

    ISA Rugby 2012

Feel compelled to disagree with you on this Lee. Let's talk facts and not hypotheticals for a moment. This thread is about ISA and 'School X' in this case is St Augustines. A school that has produced rugby teams of exceptional quality over the past 4 years or so. The ISA competition consists...

Hey Pedro - don't think I'd vote for you man - you're too out there for me! Re your Q's on rep games. Sun, 17 June games are at Rat Park. ISA 2s play CCC and the 1s play CHS 1s (first fixture is CHS 2 v Country at 12:15pm). On the following Friday (22/6) the 2s play CAS 2s and the 1s play CAS...

Hey Pedro, love your work but still can't make head nor tail of a lot of what you say. Think you are being kind to Andrews to think they can get up over Stannies, Kinross or Pats - but maybe they were way below their best against Oakhill?? Big game for Stannies next round away against Pats -...

    ISA Rugby 2012

While not disagreeing with Blindside that there was a lot of dropped ball in the Oakhill v Pats match yesterday the 6 tries to 1 victory by Oakhill was a pretty impressive display given the conditions. There were a couple of 'no try' decisions against Oakhill and Woodward didn't have his best...

    ISA Rugby 2012

In my experience 'taking the points' all day is not the Oakhill way boys. One of the attractive aspects of schoolboy rugby is the propensity of athletes from all schools to play a 15 man game (within reason) - especially when there is talent to burn out wide. Hoping to see a tough as nails...

Couple of good posts Rugby Tears - good call on the Tribune site. These guys are putting a lot of effort into their site so thank you very much to the Tribune team. Agree entirely with your summary of this weekend's round of fixtures. I know you've had your eye on the Kinross team this year so...

    ISA Rugby 2012

Think it may have been 68 Oakhill points No9 - but nonetheless very disappointing afternoon for the St Andrews boys. They never gave up, however, and played some excellent tight rugby especially the first 10 minutes of the second half when they relentlessly attacked the Oakhill ine with phase...

Cale is playing pretty strongly Newbie. His defence is first rate and to date he hasn't been overplaying his hand. He is in Yr 12 this year but has always played the age group below (eg U16s last year) given his 1995 birth date. Hoolahan has held the fly half spot in the 1994 age group A teams...

    ISA Rugby 2012

Hey Pedro, think this is the likely Oakhill lineup for the Andrews game this Sat: 1. James Holden - ISA 2. Aaron Blacklock 3. James Benton 4. Gareth Linaker - ISA 5. Josh Anderson (replacement for injured Josh Evans) 6. Cormac Burke 7. Evan Tuckwell (c) - ISA 8. Ash Goddard - ISA 9. Matt...

Scott Brown - if you are referring to me as moving on and being jealous and sour grapes - you've got it all wrong mate. I just posed the question - had nothing negative to say about the lad at all. I was interested to get the views of other forum members. I'm not going to cop allegations of...

So, after causing a flurry of activity with my comment on Sunday re Fabian Natoli playing Toyota Cup it might be time to get us back on topic....... Heard Oakhill got the chocolates today against Daramalan (ACT) in their 1st round Waratah Shield match. First round of the ISA comp coming up this...

Hey Pedro, don't disagree with your final para but not too sure about your first (couldn't quite distinguish the point you were trying to make). With Pappa coaching NSW and Auggies performing so well their is a pretty fair chance a few of the ISA lads will make the NSW sides. A question for the...

This Pedro dude is clearly on some pretty wacky gear. I thought the ISA thread was largely engaged in some decent debate and commentary until this bloke lobbed in and started ranting on about SA and NZ schools??? - hope we can get back to discussing the ISA comp as we are only a week away from...

ILTW - the wording of your post makes me ask if you would be surprised or not surprised? Personally, I would like to think you would be surprised. As stated a number of posts ago, Oakhill in the current year 12 age group have been undefeated from 14s thru 16s and there is obvious individual...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2012

Oaks #7 is Evan Tuckwell - 1st XV B&F last year, ISA, Sydney rep, etc. #12 is Dom Woodward, imposing inside centre - aggressive defender, strong runner and has beautiful hands/timing, also the team's goalkicker, will hopefully play ISA 1s this year.
