Wallabies v France - June 14 Etihad Stadium

It'll be 25k max, game should definitely be at AAMI Park.

    Wallabies v France 1st test - Suncorp 7 June

It's never got the chance to heal properly since the floods and the stadium management (and the year round sports calendar) are partly to blame. It can't recover properly in winter because League and Union games just shred it too pieces. Then once they're done, the ground hosts massive...

    Wallabies v France 1st test - Suncorp 7 June

Agreed but some tests count more than others and even though it's a series, people just don't value a series against France than say a Rugby Championship Game.

    Wallabies v France 1st test - Suncorp 7 June

It'll be a poor turnout in Melbourne as well with similar prices and a worse and much hated Etihad Stadium and quite likely would have been poor anywhere in the country bar the SFS which would sell out no matter who you played. When the alternative Sydney game is the annual flogging by NZ at...

    Wallabies v France 1st test - Suncorp 7 June

Well i guess Australia better start playing in smaller cheaper stadiums then if it can't afford to charge less than that because 20000 empty seats is not an image the game can afford right now. If 55 was a reasonable price by then more people should have turned up, but that's not what happened.

    Wallabies v France 1st test - Suncorp 7 June

Well I'll put it this way. I go every now and then with a group of 10-15 rugby nuts who go most weeks from UQ rugby to a reds (or broncos depending on who's playing who) game where it's about $25-30max. Only 2 of them were interested in buying tickets last nights match because they didn't see...

    Wallabies v France 1st test - Suncorp 7 June

Of course it's expensive ffs. 55 bucks for poor seats against a weak opponent in a game that doesn't mean anything is not value. You cannot compare origin because the demand for that is thrice that of rugby and it would sell out if tickets were $300. Anyone not on a comfortable income like Uni...

    Wallabies v France 1st test - Suncorp 7 June

Melbourne never gets more than that unless Australia play New Zealand or the lions, both of which have significant away fans and likely not to come back for a decade. All games should be at aami park for the amount they charge

    Wallabies v France 1st test - Suncorp 7 June

Anyone who thinks that's a good crowd in Brisbane (which is supposed to be the games heartland) is kidding themselves. Charging 55 bucks (with fees) to see a weak french side was outrageous, the ARU cannot continue to use the national team as it's annual bail out strategy. It's going to be even...

Brisbane City - NRC Team Official Thread

All those NRL and AFL teams you listed (i don't follow yank sports so can't comment on LA) have totally different circumstances, all of them started in their own distinct area and stadium and were very much the local team of their communities. They only all moved to the same central grounds...

Brisbane City - NRC Team Official Thread

Because if Brisbane X is doing well and Brisbane Y is terrible, and they have no difference in identity or location other than one being X and the other being Y, there is no reason for people to chose to support Brisbane Y and thus they plummet both on and off the field. Brisbane City...

Brisbane City - NRC Team Official Thread

If the qru and ARU want this to come off with strong teams up here, Putting two new teams in the same area, let alone the same stadium with no real social demographic difference would be suicide. The same would happen if a second Brisbane nrl team played out of suncorp stadium, you'd have the...

NRC Law Variations - have your say

Well if the majority of those ideas are actually being seriously considered then the competition is already a joke

Brisbane City - NRC Team Official Thread

If they don't allow the name Ballymore because they think it would be a smart idea to put a second team in the city at the exact same stadium then they have rocks for brains.

NRC Law Variations - have your say

None, Zero, Sweet FA. Lets have consistency of rules across all levels of the game so we don't have the frustrating situation of players having to adjust to new rules happen more than it needs to. This isn't the AFL or NRL, we don't own the rules of the game and it is not up to us to decide...

    National Rugby Championship 2014

That assumes the general public is even going to care about a second tier tournament in the first place. Theres nothing wrong at all with the idea of entertainment before the game and half time but people are going to Rugby to watch Rugby. Moving away from that to BBL level (not taking itself...

    National Rugby Championship 2014

If it is sustainable then whats the issue? The teams in Sydney and Canberra should be/are looking to play in grounds with expected crowds of that side. The VRU would have done the same if Lakeside Stadium was available to rugby during that time but are stuck with AAMI Park. This tournament is...

    National Rugby Championship 2014

Yep and now it's completely forgotten about with no one caring until they are so bored by the emptiness of summer that they go back to it, unlike the Football codes which generate interest and coverage regardless of the time of the year. If the NRC goes down the road of gimmicks and marketing...

    National Rugby Championship 2014

Yeah for people who have nothing better to do over summer. Making the NRC just another pisstake tournament during NRL and AFL finals is the last thing it needs.

France to rest stars for Aussie tour

Giving it a wide berth. Completely over Australia games being played at Etihad and being charged 45 bucks minimum for the crap seats. This could easily get only 20k and the ARU still won't get that the only games that shouldn't be at AAMI Park are ones against NZ and the Lions, both of which...
