Solid hitout for LCOI today at Leichhardt Oval No.2 against Balmain and Macquarie Uni in somewhat warm conditions. For LCOI it was a strong defensive performance keeping both Balmain and Mac Uni scoreless in all games,. Looking forward to next Saturday with Knox Old Boys and Old Barker...

Also no sign of their 2nd grade partners Alexandria Dukes. Personally I don't think Dukes ever recovered after going down in the last play of the 2017 Noice Cup GF (with apologies to Mango-man if he's still around).....Look it up.

Bloody hell, two flat out days at work and trying to fit in sleep, eating, rugby training (in no particular order), so it's a day or two since you check this page and it blows up..... I played with St Ives in 2023 as part of the Lane Cove/St Ives joint venture and I must say, even though it...

Also there's some good reading to be done in some of the Subbies forum threads. Death of a Subbies Club and Looking Back Subbies 2001

Hawkesbury Ag went down the gurgler two years ago. A few years of poor discipline didn't help but others may be able to confirm but the College did not want to be associated with the rugby club in the end. Dundas Valley died a slow death after Parramatta Leagues purchased the licenced club's...

First split training session for LCOI grade and colts with a total of just under 70 in attendance. Basically from the split it appears that we will have two colts sides, along with the two grade sides. How that will work I'm not sure. Whether one side plays as a Halligans colts side I don't know...

    Sydney Subbies 2025

As mentioned the club's goal is to move up a Division however the grade results aren't there yet. There's not a lot of good to be gained from moving up a Division only to be handed your backside each week. People soon stop enjoying the game. I do think there's a bit of a gulf between the...

The club's position is to build on last year's Colts result through the grade sides and grow the player base. The latter has certainly happened and only time will tell with the former. Ultimately the goal of the club is to move up a Division but the grade results obviously need to improve...

I'm a bit flabbergasted. I don't want to count the chickens before they cross the road.. but LCOI had 62 people at training tonight.

My son was at the game and I thought I might see him. I did not see him.

Watching a bit of the A-League at Allianz tonight, seeing chunks of the relatively newly laid turf (December) coming up. And not a single 21mm in sight.....

Solid first official session for LCOI tonight. Just under 50 bodies split fairly evenly between Colts and Grade.

Sad news to report the passing of St Ives Rugby patron and life member Joy Johnson Thursday of last week. An absolute stalwart of the club will be missed greatly by all.

Not quite. Had the opportunity to watch them closely during the Div 3 Colts major semi and GF. They are both genuine talents. Might also add that I'm very happy to see two props from the club I play for, Lane Cove Old Ignatians, made the squad.

Great cross section of players selected. Thought one or both of the Banfield brothers from Knox may may have got the nod, both were outstanding this year.

For those of us with a more refined palate any word on black rat availability and pricing?

Central Coast Rugby Union had their grand finals last week at Central Coast Stadium with a 5pm kickoff for 1st Grade (Premier 1). Finished at a reasonable time around 6.30pm under lights.

Certainly agree that the second half was a different story but poor discipline comes generally being under pressure, be that from scrums lost against the feed, dropped balls or a 50/22.

LCOI Colts gave it everything they had. Super proud of the lads who at the start of the season, basically didn't know each others names.
