Diggers turns over another ball, having fumbled his last one - not a happy night

He was so stoked to have caught a fullback he wanted to make sure everyone noticed

    Brumbies v Reds rd1 SR2013

Diggers is not having his best match - lost a footrace for the Brumbies first try, turnover in contact, penalty at the breakdown (leading to points), run down too easily from behind, beaten on the outside, passed to the opposition. One nice run but was lucky with an obstruction. The contrast...

2012 Rugby Championship R5G1 Springbokke vs Wallabies @ the Bull Ring

I would love to be able to post screen grabs to show this but at nine seconds into that clip there is one springbok player on the ground - two wallaby players released him and going in for the pilfer. At ten seconds someone has tried to clean out slipper but has bounced off an on the ground to...

2012 Rugby Championship Round 6 Game 1 South Africa vs New Zealand- 6 Oct

All Blacks are the best team in the world - no one else could have won that. Conrad Smith and Kieran Read, rugby royalty.

2012 Rugby Championship Round 6 Game 1 South Africa vs New Zealand- 6 Oct

Sorry but that ball was behind the last ankle - Dagg was entirely within his rights

2012 Rugby Championship Round 6 Game 1 South Africa vs New Zealand- 6 Oct

I don't think you are getting smashed. The gulf in class between these two sides is immense. Sure it has been levalised by some extraordinary decisions but when the ball is actually in play there is only one team in it.

2012 Rugby Championship Round 6 Game 1 South Africa vs New Zealand- 6 Oct

9 penalties conceded by ABs - plus at least 1 free kick. No penalties no free kicks conceded by SA. Rolland must have got good odds on a SA double at home

2012 Rugby Championship Round 6 Game 1 South Africa vs New Zealand- 6 Oct

Penalty count would be giving it a run for its money

2012 Rugby Championship Round 6 Game 1 South Africa vs New Zealand- 6 Oct

24:15 into the match and the Springboks have to make only their third tackle of the game

2012 Rugby Championship Round 6 Game 1 South Africa vs New Zealand- 6 Oct

I didn't think I would ever be feeling a lot of sympathy for the all blacks when it comes to refereeing decisions - they have a bit of catching up to do in the karma column. But the first 8 or 9 minutes of this game were something special by Rolland

2012 Rugby Championship R5G1 Springbokke vs Wallabies @ the Bull Ring

The only circumstance in which a substituted player is not permitted to "replace a front row player when injured, temporarily suspended or sent off" is when: (a) the referee has ordered uncontested scrums prior to the event which led to the front row player leaving the field of play; AND (b)...

2012 Rugby Championship R5G1 Springbokke vs Wallabies @ the Bull Ring

Sorry - yeah, 3 of course. But see exception 2 to law 3.12 - it seems that you can exceed your permitted number of replacements for an injured front rower. The exception to the exception only applies if the ref has previously called ucontested scrums, which he had not: 3.12 SUBSTITUTED...

2012 Rugby Championship R5G1 Springbokke vs Wallabies @ the Bull Ring

Can anyone point me to that seven replacement rule - can see the rule that limits you to nominting seven replacements, and the limitations on returning players - but nothing that says that the nominated replacements cannot come onto the field. Law 4...

    Wallabies versus Wales- SFS

Of course we need to come up with something good in attack - but it is a team game and balance is important. When choices have to be made between players for particular positions Deans will not, nor should not, make the attacking choice in every position. Deans may choose to sacrifice...

    Wallabies versus Wales- SFS

When the Championship rolls around the Australian centres will be lining up opposite the likes of Steyn/De Villiers and SBW/Nonu. We will need a centre pairing that cannot only stop them, but also stop the momentum that they create for their team. Look what happened to Ireland on the weekend...

    Wallabies versus Wales- SFS

I tend to agree. I have some sympathy with the view that he has pre-conceived notions about the result of a game and the 50/50 calls seem to go one way (I'm sure Al Baxter and most of the French team would agree). Australia seemed to get the benefit of the doubt at the breakdown and Wales...

    Wallabies versus Wales- SFS

I believe this Welsh team has the potential to turn into one of the finest teams in the world over the ccoming years - and by that I don't only mean that they have the potential to be one of the most successful teams - they also look like a team that will play some great rugby that delight us...

    New Zealand vs Ireland

It was certainly a gutsy performance by Ireland but I do not think we were even close to being the better team. Apart from the scrum dominance towards the end I did not think there was a single area of the game where we dominated NZ in defence or attack. NZ's execution was not nearly as good...
