    Sydney Colts - 2016

What did the Manly players, coaches, waterboy & supporters think?
  2. Dingasden

    Sydney Colts - 2016

Yes I agree, it's been gradually dying a slow death over last 10 to 20 years and there is a lot more to it than blaming one short sighted ARU director. Same causes that have lead to demise in junior club numbers in older age groups.

    Sydney Colts - 2016

This has nothing to do with safety. .I'm sure there would have been at least one hooker amongst the 8 fresh reserves but to avoid going over player points they call uncontested. This makes a mockery of the game

    Sydney Colts - 2016

Just in the issue of points system this is what the Sydney Uni president wrote in the 2015 Annual report. I'm not convinced his solution would help all other clubs play on a level playing field and that he doesn't really care

When you've been hired to increase social media presence. Agree only paid memberships & bums on seats are relevant.

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

Or just as important save junior clubs from extinction. Last 10 years Southern Districts have lost South Hurstville, Blakehurst & Engadine. That's 3 rugby clubs, 3 rugby fields & a lot of history lost forever with local kids limited to soccer, league & now AFL. A sad state of affairs with no...

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

I acknowledge my numbers were very rough but wanted to point to the drop off in the last 10 years. The numbers you have used look to be based on Buddha which includes teams that played only 1 game the whole year. Eg in 2013 8 of the 16 teams played less than 50% of the total (9) games. In 2014...

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

The ARU hierarchy seem to forget who feeds the private schools with their trained & educated players after playing 5 or more years of rugby but so much focus is on private school rugby while the junior club rugby dies a slow death from u14s on. Over 30 teams made up the Sydney u17s & u18s in...

    Sydney U/18 Colts

At Souths our u18s train with U20s colts and many sit on bench or back up for 2nd or 3rd colts. We are already seeing the fruits from the efforts in driving this age group.

    Sydney U/18 Colts

My understanding is Sydney Juniors are looking after this & have done nothing to promote or organise the 2016 competition as of this week. Without a major enthusiastic drive by the majority of clubs, this critical stepping stone in the junior rugby pathway will sink once again.

    Sydney U/18 Colts

I think this is a critical piece of the rugby pathway that needs serious attention if we are to offer rugby to teenagers that don't attend private schools.

    Shute Shield 2016

I certainly do. Palu is 34 in July he's been a big contributor to the Tahs but I would not like to gamble on an injury free season for him. Jed is 10 years his junior, is 3 years into the extended Waratahs squad & has been training & playing superbly ever since. Certain promises were made to...
