Don't think they have the depth, they struggle to even put B teams on the pitch. Plus historical reasons of course, the GPS being very historically strict and based on tradition.

Thanks for the reminder - should've put this in I'm picking Downlands firsts. They have been constantly underestimated by the GPS and although their depth is just not there yet within their program as a whole, with their performance against GT, the scoreline reflects they can go all the way...

First of all - Thanks to the staff for reopening the forum. We all appreciate it. Secondly, I would now like to drop my tips for this week. TGS vs GT - GIVE ME THE LADS FROM THE RANGE! I was leaning towards GT all week, even with the injury of Connor Clifford (#12), but now with playmaker 10...

Quick Question - Does anyone know the top try scorer for colts 1 this year?

Interesting to here - from mates in coaching staff etc I've heard he's a great player and I believe is in the leadership team. I feel as though it was likely he moved down to Brisbane for better Footy opportunities/Uni.

Agree here. I’m an NC old boy through and through but Union in qld and aus is clearly going down hill and we need to start building our pathways better. It starts by simply picking the blokes who play the best footy, not the ones who are only picked as they are in the “top private school Leauge”

Which School is RGS? Just Interested as I've never heard of them. Do they play footy? If so what leauge?

Love this Mate - Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard.

I haven't heard this but is this true? Quite surprising considering he was picked in the mock draft etc, and was rated higher than current Mock Draft pick no.7 Rocco Zikarsky in the NBA (Sorry to go on a basketball tangent but I do love some BBall), If this is true do you think we will see him...

Unfortunatley one of my favourite players (Siulepa), is off to Tasmania to play professional basketball, however I am excited to see the likes of Greenfell (u19 reds) (NC), Hart (NC), O'Connel (NC), J & C McGahan (GT), Russell (GT), Clifford (BBC), Howarth (BBC), Walker (IGS), Pritchard (ACGS)...

Would love to see more representitives from outside the GPS this year. As I have discussed on various other forums Nepotism towards the GPS has been too strong within the reds academy. 13 players from NC in the u15s and a coach is simply ridiculous. Hopefully the 16's we see closer scorelines...

As @Sofit mentioned in his recent post, at the end of the day depth is one of the most important things in GPS rugby - so all boys can have a go. With school such like NC going down to the 9ths in some cases, it’s saddening when these boys have limited competition. Thus, if downlands can hardly...

Thanks EC, value you trying to get the forum back on track. My pick would have to be Lucas Clifford (BBC), if anyone has seen his media accounts then they would know how much work he has put in this season, and to finally see him get picked last week and put on a what I think was a man of the...

Although BSHS this year have proven stronger than most of their performances last decade, I can't see them beating that 2016 side. I was in fact somewhat involved with First XV rugby this year and I remember this vividly. The likes of Taulagi, McNamara and Mahina for BSHS simply outclassed any...

Love this take, Clifford truly the epitome of hard work pays off. Warmed my heart to finally see him get the starting spot, especially after seeing him fix up the late game BBC scrums when coming off the bench.

My Vote is Tom Goldie (TSS). One of the best pills in the comp and knows his way around a scrum and ruck. Has a great boxy too. He has also been a key in defence putting good shots on throughout the season.
