    NSW CCC Rugby 2014

Teams were picked today after 2 days of tryouts, the standard was high and, ultimately, the players selected deserved their spots. Looking forward to hearing about their games, with one coming up against AICES & CHS on Sunday.

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

Central Coast vs Western Sydney (sideline eye) 15s: Western Sydney won by around 30 points -can't remember exact score: The scoreline didn't flatter the Central Coast boys, however, they put in a gutsy team performance against a side that will no doubt be there near the final stages of this...

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2013

Very true, however it is a tough one. A lot of teenagers have not made up their minds as they love both games. This years CCC 16s side had a fantastic 15 year old fly half pull out due to his selection in the 15s CCC league team. He's with the Knights for next year's Harold Matts but will be...

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2013

Your quote is spot on from what I witnessed in the Fiji v Oz game. Hutch seemed to be a solid 'around the legs' defender and I think his speed on the wing will suit the Aussies. In saying that, Jones did nothing wrong, I would have dropped the other winger back to the bench as he looked weaker...

    National U/16 Championships 2013

Top Cat, Thanks for posting the link. Mind you as a NSW Country fan that was hard to watch. Schools looked pretty clinical in the backline, it was a shame the Country #9 Baker wasn't on the field during that time, I was looking forward to seeing how he was performing. Good luck with the rest...

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2013

In regards to a prediction: I'd say Australia by a try. If the 'good guys' shut down the Kiwi number 10 (he was an absolute stand out again the Aussie A side) and maybe tire him out through a lot of defensive work (send big Aus 12 in his channel all game) then they should win it. The forwards...

    National U/16 Championships 2013

Can you please paste the youtube link? I'd like to see some of the match. Hope your son's X-rays were break-free!

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2013

Australia A vs Kiwis (quick summary) NZ 36 Aust A 0 Aussies started poorly and the Kiwis piled on the points through a dominant forwards game (they scored on of their tries off a rolling maul that went for 25 metres). Every one of their players looked sharp and they capitalised on the numerous...

    National U/16 Championships 2013

Thanks Hugh, I'll be cheering on the NSW Country boys on Monday, and of course, the Aussies on the Tuesday.

    National U/16 Championships 2013

I apologise profusely for my ignorance, however, can someone please answer these questions: 1. Can anyone turn up and watch the 16s tournament & the Oz games at Knox, ie are there limited entries (mainly for the Knox crowd)? 2. Do either of these tournaments cost entry fees? Thanks, looking...

    NSW U16 - schools, NSWJRU / SJRU / CRJU 2013

Strong teams all round. Two CCC boys named in the country side: Baker (half) and Stewart (hooker) will impress a lot of people. Also a fan of Gittoes in the schools side: tough lock/8 who has the size to match his aggression.

NSW CCC 2013 (U16 and Opens)

Going back quite a way but Matt Hodgson was at St Edward's Gosford in his senior years - Wallaby who's now captaining the Force. That school had 5 players in this years 16s side; best of the lot was only 15 and subsequently pulled out due to his selection in the Under 15s CCC league side. Let's...

    NSW U16 - schools, NSWJRU / SJRU / CRJU 2013

Any news on today's games? I couldn't make it and was especially wondering how the CCC boys are going/went. Hopefully the weather didn't dampen the potential for some open-field rugby. Any news, results, info etc. would be appreciated.

Ideal yes, however I don't remember seeing him attack many breakdowns putting pressure on the ball - wasn't a pick-pocket - which is usually a 7's main role. His ball running, I thought, was perfectly suited for a number 8 role (he resembled our own Cliffy Palu). In regards to the NSW Country...

NSW CCC 2013 (U16 and Opens)

Great to see the selections reflecting the majority of opinions. I too thought James Wilkinson was unlucky, he is as tough as nails and never stopped working in the opens. He is the country hooker so hopefully isn't too dis-heartened. Regarding the 16s, my earlier predictions of the boys from...

I watched Broken Bay vs MCC in the 16s. B-Bay won the match. Broken Bay standouts: 1. Nick White; 2. Max Stewart; 4. Oliver Robilliard; 9. Liam Baker; 10. Tom Starling; 22. Joe Williams. MCC standouts: 6. Ryan Larossa; 13. Jake Gallagher; 14. Jed Bouris I also caught some Open Age MCS action...
