The one and only Wallaby Coach thread

Mckellar concerns me a bit, as does Larkham. Both were less then inspiring with brumbies. (who gives AF about winning SRau), both were wallaby assistants in periods where their portfolios struggled, and both haven;t reportedly set the world on fire in the UK. Is it sentiment driving their...

The one and only Wallaby Coach thread

Ok WHAT is the actual list. What significant coaches finished up post WC or would be a good get or could step up. - could be assistant options. Billy Millard Cheika Mckellar Larkham Les Kiss (prior to Reds appointment) Ass. Peter Hewat Matt Cockbain Julian Salvi (Super Rugby assistant more likely) No...

Eddie pushing it was all because the systems aren't right (pretty sure he was meant to help fix them over 5 years...not have a whinge it wasn't happening within 9 months..) BUT - hopefulyl no pay out SO Who is on the list. Mckellar? Would he leave europe so quick, is it still a risk with no...

    Australian Rugby / RA

One thing that concerns me - and please educate me! Brumbies are on the verge of bankruptcy, but want to maintain commercial independence, but are relying an increase in funding from RA. There is a line that the black hole in the brumbies books is of RAs making - because they reduced funding...

The one and only Wallaby Coach thread

Obviously they can't fire him - so the suggestion needs to cease If he wants to quit, let him quit, but don't offer money to 'ease' him out. The moment RA hands over a cent in any 'negotiation' for him to depart, then he will immediately say, it was out of my hands, I was committed etc and so...

I don't see mr 'average' gibbon, moving past a bench Slipper. It's a no from me.

I wouldn't say that is 'also'. Its just multiple people sharing the same japanese news. It's not like a new, original source that corroborates the story.

Callan and Slacksmith, both 2022 Aus U20 leaders from WA are now in other teams. Sad.

    Wallabies 2024

Slippers will be vital in 2024, and most likely still very valuable in 2025. However from 24 into 25 there may be a chance for guys like Hodgman to get a cap here or there (if he shows he is better then gibbon) and Eloff will be become eligible as Slipper shifts out also. Gives a bit of...

    Wallabies 2024

Who replaces Slipper? Gibbon? He is still our no.2 LHP and no.3 THP and doesn't look like thats going to change in 2024. At worst he moves to no.3 LHP and no.4 THP behind Schoupp and Pone but I doubt it 5-6 props go in a test squad and he will be there in 2024 and likely 2025 unless a Pearce...

    Wallabies 2024

he is on 1.4mil in japan so I'm sure his next contract will still be higher, especially as he will be 33+ He didn't play in RWC, not because of his Japanese contract, but because he stopped playing when his team withdrew from the comp and he didn't want to forego his japanese contract by...

    Wallabies 2024

Alot of no's with just 'hope other players come out' as the alternative- considering they have 2 Super Rugby seasons to come out. Considering how young so many of our Super Rugby squad players are, I find it highly unlikely you will be selecting a tight 5 player that isn't already playing Super Rugby.

Definitely think we will see amarosino. FLW (Fergus Lee-Warner) is like another holloway- a 6. There are times when a holloway or FLW (Fergus Lee-Warner) would have been better then t.hoops who got caught out a few times and not so sure around set piece.

Yeh don't think I need to watch it again as I think it's the same point. He was saying he's committed - not that he WILL be.

May I just clarify if Eddie in fact lied on International television in the press conference, or just used words that dodged the truth. News reports - Eddie DID have a zoom interview with JRFU (not allegedly, DID) Reporter asks Eddie if he did in post match conference: Eddie responds "don't...

    Wallabies 2024

I think Skelton will still be in the picture for 2025, whilst the Canhams of the world keep building. We've just seen the results of moving on from the old heads entirely and being out muscled. I'll stick with your 35, and leave foreigners out also Hookers - BPA, Faessler, Uelese Props - AAA...
