BBC has raided the Helensvale Hogs.

Generally they have a club rugby trial/selection day where all games are played at the one venue. BJRU club coaches have input and apparently selectors get to the odd game too. Gold Cup is only under 15.

JH was the difference for BBC in a few games in attack and pulls off the odd big defensive hit. However, I watched the League test and it was probably a good thing that the commentators had the second row numbers mixed up. He is a good tackler when he sticks but not a good defender. Whether they are a smoky or a dark horse, SPLC will be competitive. Keynan Tauakipulu was one of the top 15 schoolboys in NZ schoolboy rugby last year. He played 8 for QLD White U18 and then selected in Aussie tour of NZ. One to watch. Top 3 will still be Villa, Lauries and MCA.

Based on the games I viewed, I would have had Walker and Howarth in the starting team. And probably had one of the Nudgee or IGS flyers on the right wing. But they're all good players and the honorable mentions was a good list too. The bench was Tierney (BBC), Vousty (TSS), Romano (BBC)...

St Peters have a few new boys and a few back. I don't know all the details but a couple of the year 11 boys have credentials better than most in the AIC. I am guessing a little about the smoky bit but why not? Gets you all talking... Cannot see Ashgrove being as defensively good as the 2019...
