Third is coming off an injury interrupted season last year and should prove the best this year.

Spot on. Mitch Third will be a big asset to TSS this year and has very good backs around him. Isaac Nathan was a very damaging player when in the 13,14 and 15 age group at centre and sometimes fullback. If he played centre with Filaea, a damaging runner on the wing TSS would be hard to stop out...

Are all those marked NC1XV 2012 from last years Grade 11 or are some repeating? I know Tuttle and Jones are from Grade 11 2012.

    QLD GPS Rugby 2013

Yes it will be hard as there were a lot of Grade 11's in the 1st XV last year and Clifton and Third coming back. But you dont know as last year Gibson was fringe and got about 5 starting gigs and did extremely well. Nathan can play anywhere too. Before he was in the 1st's he has played centre or...

Just wondering who James Scott is?

    QLD GPS Rugby 2013

Well if they bring in players a lot of those players dont make 1st XV then they really are giving kids a chance as opposed to the ones that only bring in ones that they know will make 1st XV. Last years U 16 A TSS team won the premiership with the same team that went ordinary in the 15's. In...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2013

That may be so, but I think when the team is picked there wil be a lot of familiar names. I can think of 11 or 12 that will be there barring injury and TSS could certainly have a team without imports that would be capable of winning GPS. With the depth from last year it will take a very...

Do you actually know how many players will be in TSS 1sts team this year that weren't at TSS last year ?
  9. M

    QLD GPS Rugby 2013

I think that team is very close to the mark. Lyon should hold his position, he was oustanding last year. Perkins should be at 4. I think maybe Gibson at 12 and Neal at 15. Is Joey Fittock from NSW. Plenty of depth at TSS.

T Mitch Third is repeating and Nili Fialea was in grade 11 last year. Third unfortunately missed a few games last year due to injury.

What do TSS do that the others don't

I think you will find Isaac Nathan is at TSS

    QLD GPS Rugby 2013

Think you are spot on about Isaac Fines. No room for Josh Neal at #9 in the 2's and George Chapman at 10.

    QLD GPS Rugby 2013

No I am quite sure everyone played except Andrew McMahon at 9. Possibly a bit of complacency combined with GT trying to make sure they won as a victory over TSS would make them the only team to achieve that. They are still young and learning and even though they had a great season they may have...

Yes I had overlooked Tom Kliese. He did play well in his 1st year at TSS. Another forward who may figure from the 16a's is Tom Perkins. Some players who would make 1sts at most schools will likely miss out at TSS next year. It looks like being a very strong group to choose from.

Accurate assessment that. Good point about Josh Neal. He has played some half back in the past and played it well. He is a good build for half back and strong. Gibson is an ideal centre and will play anywhere well. He as played 9 10 12 13 & 15 in the last 2 years and played it well. There could...

Fair assessment of TSS. Add in hooker Jake Lyon and Luke Papworth as standouts. Lyon leading try scorer with high work rate and Papworth skilled, high work rate and consistent. # name is Dave Hennaway, great season as he had no previous 1st XV season. All in all TSS produced a great team ethic...

NC & TSS to finish last and second last! I think TSS may have won or shared premierships in 2nds 3rds 4ths and top 3 grades in the 16's. BGS must be bringing Sam Greene for another go. Obviously light dark blue has a real bias against Southport and Nudgee and forgets that without SG BGS would...
