Good performance by grammar overall. Gorry was fantastic , the 10 (Mackie) and 12 (Sheldon) likewise were very good. The latter 2 giving the outside backs plenty of quality opportunities . Gorry dominated the pigs. I see the problem for the competition is these are not 3rds standard players.

Yes good effort. I like to celebrate the team. The team gets the ball to wingers in space. Thats how rugby should be played! Better than watching fights IMO.

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

A good question and the answer is fairly easy. Will the scholarship schools admit they are doing it? It they do admit it and name the recipients then the others may have to answer the hypocrite question. Of course the scholarship schools are still denying they do it. Hence the problem -...

I sense a big difference between a scholarship from year 7 as opposed to yrs 10 & 11. The latter is a risk management strategy with little emphasis on improving the educational outcome for the child.

Oh no. This is perhaps the most important post in the entire thread. It goes to the very heart of GPS Rugby. These are not the words of an overzealous relative ramping the merits of their kin or even an enthusiastic student touting himself or his mate. . This man held up Bill as the winning...

I think the name of this thread should be changed to "Training for Political life 101" As I look through the last few pages I see many practicing their non answers to questions, answering of different questions, making statements of "fact" without evidence and skill full creation of diversions...

Outdated is your word. The headmasters still say they adhere to it. This has now severely damaged GPS rugby. Grammar and High will never recover. The net effect will certainly be a weaker Sydney grade comp as kids that can play are discarded and discouraged. If one more GPS school fell...

And I make the same comment again. Boys that can play in the discarded schools will most likely be lost to rugby. This will further weaken the shaky Sydney club rugby competition. We are witness to a process of dishonesty and corruption which we can see destroying the game. There is no room in...

Yes i apologise here I did not intend to suggest Shore was a part of scholarship gang. However, I suspect the location of the school is a help in keeping rugby viable. In some ways Shore is the next most vulnerable potential scalp for the arms race team.
