This is true. I think Pats can win that game on paper and current form but as we all know, Marist is the benchmark and will always be tough to beat at home. If you can beat Marist at home any year that is a massive win.

There is probably a good case for ATC to join the AIC compared to GPS. GPS would not even allow Marist to join so why would ATC have a better chance? I personally would like to see AIC have 9 schools to align with GPS, move rugby to term 3 and have the schools on their bye round verse each other...

Crazy to think that SLC is by far the largest school in terms of population with around 2000 boys but struggle to field 3 teams. You would expect that maybe from peters and eddies. Not sure what's happened to SLC but this decline has been occurring since around 2010-2011.

Why Ambrose Treacy College? They have only been around for 5 or 6 years? I think some of the more established schools with history would also have a good case for joining the AIC. Why not Downlands College or even a stronger school from TAS like John Paul College or old friends St Columban's...

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure Marist have never finished below 4th in AIC First XV Rugby? Hardly easily beats and easily the benchmark in the comp. The last decade was not as dominant for them but they were always challenging when they didn't win the premiership.

Brothers in recent years has seen a number of Padua old boys play there. Most notably are the Creighton brothers (Lawson and Hudson) who are now in the QLD Reds squad for this season.

Ex Padua First XV premiership winning coach from 2011, 2015 and 2016, Mr. Ben Lowrie has taken up the role as deputy principal at Lauries this year. I wonder if he will have any involvement in their rugby program anytime soon. He was part of Padua's long term building of their rugby program...
